Seergirl: I totally can understand what you're saying. My parents are like that too. The thing is, they're right. My parents used to yell at me for going and hanging out at the library for hours. I thought they were retarded because it's the library. A week later, guess what, a girl my age got raped in the bathroom by a hobo I had been talking to the week before. (Another reason why I don't use public restrooms besides the filth.)
Trust what your parents say. They know more than you do. Just don't let it pull you down too much.

They suspect my friends to be crazy or something and they are a bunch of nerds. You'd have to see what I am trying to say. Yes I understand that America is a pretty messed up place when it comes to girls, but just nevermind...it's a waste of time trying to explain. It's complicated.

jelloh0530 @ seergirl. you're either very stupid, very young, very naive, or a ******** up mixture of all three. and if you make it through the next 10-15 years without getting raped, make damned sure that you THANK your parents for giving a damn. idiot. ....I have to agree here. My friend was raped at school once. And then the second time on her own block. And this girl can bench like 100 pounds, ..she was almost as strong as some of the huge football players for our school. I mean, you can't force her to do anything...and she's been raped twice. Both times in places she should have been safe. Be glad your parents give a damn, and just get over it. I've gone missing for a day or two and my parents didn't even notice. I've got a guy friend who MOVED AWAY to live with his brother, and his parent's haven't figured it out. Take overprotective over not caring.

My parents are extremely overprotective and taught me to be cautious at all times. So, now I've grown to be paranoid of everything. I have panic attacks if someone walks by me in a shopping aisle. If there's someone in the shopping aisle I'll pass and go around it until they leave to enter it. I don't go anywhere alone and I don't leave the house unless I'm forced to. I'm afraid of something bad happening so I avoid leaving the house at all. Still, I'm not upset with how their parenting, though it's been hard to overcome. But, I'd rather be paranoid and ignorant. 3nodding

Take overprotective over not caring. yep. my mother was like that. i ran away for 2 weeks (to the next frikkin door neighbors house lmfao) and she didn't notice rotf. don'tcha just love when parents don't give a s**t? seergirl - you are not the only overprotected teen, and i am sure there are lots here who feel your pain. my mother could care less - but when i was living with my father - forget about going out PERIOD. i was not allowed out. at all. for anything. no sports, no school plays, no sleeping over friend's houses, nothing at all. period. school, then home. that was my life. so i'm sorry if i don't empathize too much with you. the one time i was allowed out, to go to the prom, my boyfriend raped me afterward. it's not that your parents don't trust you. or that they think everyone is evil and untrustworthy. IT'S THAT THEY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHO IS GOING TO BE THE BAD ONE. so they need to be on guard. cuz your parents do not want anything to happen to you. and you'll have plenty of time to have fun- and it's better when you're older anyway! how much stuff can you do now? you can't even get into a good club at your age, lmao. when you're older, you'll be free to go out and do alllll the stupid stuff you wanna do. just relax.. be happy that you have parents who are actually MARRIED lol - very rare - and who care - even more rare. you're seemingly quite lucky. and all parents hate their kid's friends. it's not something only happening to you. all teens go through it. all parents go through it. one day, you're gonna be a mom, and you'll see. and i guarantee you'll call your parents and say -"whoops, sorry, now i see." lol. until then.. don't stress over this. it'll pass sooner than you think.

My parents were the same when when i was ..I'm asuming your age-ish and i thiank them for that. We had a teacher at my school that taught JROTC and some day we had to be there a few hours early to practice he told us never to walk to school, girls were being raped on this one corner it was in the "news" but only early. So if we were going to walk call him and he would pick us up. Well he turned out to be the rapist. I mean i know it seems to you like yo ur parents are taking everytihng over the top and being paranoid. But they are right you cant trust anyone. i live 6 houses from my best friend..i dont walk there at night or walk home at night without him walking with me...Call me paraniod and my parents over protective but id rather be a overprotected paraniod than raped and murdered.
your parents trust you they just dont trust anyone else

Exactly. Fool's parents don't let her to go friend's homes unless a 'rent is there, and usually the mom. If the dad's there, she wants to have met him.
I remember Fool was an hour late coming home once, and her mom freaked out, thinking something happened. My cousin was just staying late for Spanish, she'd missed a test.
And mine kind of care, it's just with my stepmom, I'm not her kid, so she's not as aware of me. And my dad isn't home much, sooo...not a big deal.

Thank you for posting this, but also bear in mind that the eyes are an excellent first target to attack, because the spine automatically sends defence impulses if the eyes are damaged, meaning he will drop you if you attack them.

You know.... we don't lock our doors here... Actually... I don't think we've EVER locked our doors... I think it's that mind set too... like if you constantly think something bad's gonna happen.. it will. We've never been robbed.. never had a problem.
