"Oh lad, you don't insult me. In fact, it should be me apologizing to you. I'm the town repairman, so everybody comes to me with their repairing problems. Everybody seems to know me here, even the little ones."
*Edgar waves at a family whose children are waving at him.*
"So honestly, I'm sorry to say that I haven't met you yet.
*Edgar poked the bar with his fingers getting the attention of Dim.*
"Say there Dim, how about one more before I head back?"
"Coming right up Ed."
*Edgar turns back toward Fenris*
"Say lad, how would you like to take a trip with me down to the docks? I got a box of tools coming in and I could use some help carrying it back."

*Fenris eyed the man for a few seconds before relaxing his expresion.*
"A good deed every now and again won't hurt my reputation. Why not?"
*Fenris downed his cranberry juice in one go and stood up from his barstool.*
"Lead the way sir!"

*Edgar got up and walked to door.*
"See ya tomorrow Dim"
*He swung open the door and followed Fenris out. Edgar then began the short trek around the tavern to the southern pier.*
"Me father always wanted me to some sort of lawmaker, but when I touched me first wrench..."
*He motions the gripping of a wrench in his left hand*
"Nothing ever felt sweeter. What about you? How did you come to thieving?"

*Fenris simled as he walked with Edgar.*
"You make light of my trade, I'm surprised. Most people don't attempt at interaction with outlaw like myself. But to answer your question..."
*Fenris took a deep breath and looked to the sky.*
"Well, when I was seven years of age, my parents were celebrating their anniversary by going on a barge cruise to the tropics. The vacation was great, but on the return trip, the vessel we we're traveling on was set upon by pirates, myself and only a few others survived. My parents weren't among us."
*Fenris let out a heavy sigh.*
"Thieving was the best way I could stay alive. I didn't want to be part of some orphan home."

"Oh lad, I'm sorry."
*Edgar continued walking in pensive mood. He was trying to maintain a upbeat conversation.*
"I have an idea."
*Edgar stopped just short of the pier. The waves were crashing underneath the dock. The seamen were pulling crates off the closest ship, putting them in a storage house.*
"I've always wanted to enter the forest. You know, just to see what's out there."
"Hey Eddy, come to pick up your trinkets?"
*Turning to the man who yelled, Edgar put up his index finger.*
"Just a sec Scorn."
"Come on, get your crap off my dock."
*He turned back to Fenris.*
"So how about it?"

*Fenris stood and thought for a moment. He was not normally one to turn down adventure, but he had his reasons to not jump at the occasion. He had only just met Edgar and not that he was intimidated by him, but going out into the forest with a gentleman who happens to be good with tools, who he barely knew, didn't sound like the smartest idea.*
"How about you and I take care of your "crap," and then we'll see about heading into the forest."
*Fenris knew he had nothing better to do today anyway. Also, it was unlikely that Edgar had the ability to beat Fenris, let-alone kill him.*

"Alright, alright."
*Edgar spent the next several minutes grabbing crate after crate and placing them on the grass just off the dock. He then went over to settle with Scorn.*
"Alright Scorn, how much I owe ya?"
"I'd say about 100."
"Thousand? For 12 crates? It's usually about 25 thousand credits there Scorn."
"Yeah, but the ship got hit by some of the local thieves about 5 miles out. Obviously there was something onboard that was highly valuable. So I'm just covering my own business, you know?"
"Or it could just be that the ship entered the port of Raithem. A place known for its thieves."
"Listen, I don't care what you think happened. Either pay it or leave the boxes."
*Edgar looked back toward Fenris with a concerned look on his face. He was hoping that this wasn't leaving a bad impression on his new friend.*

*Fenris' ears perked up at the words "highly valuable." Though his curiosity was quickly replaced by intrigue at Scorn's words of thieves. Fenris knew of every hit that went down in and around Raithem, and he had heard nothing of a ship being targeted. He would have to check it out later.*
"Scorn, you should charge him the regular price, or he might end up with a full refund... with or without your consent."
"And who are you!?" Scorn exclaimed as he turned to Fenris "Oh, uh my apologies! Sincerely!" *Scorn turned to Edgar again.* " Um, er... My uh, math was incorrect Edgar, my apologies. It'll be the standard fare."
"Thank you Scorn. I will make sure I find out who is attacking your ships. You're generosity will not go overlooked."

A small girl, barely into womanhood came scurrying down to the docks at a rather hurried pace. She made a soft jingling noise as she moved, the sound of gold against gold, though it didn't sound like coins. She wore a long brown leather overcoat which hid nearly every inch of skin on her body, baring only her hands, head, and neck. On her neck, a small blue ribbon with a single gold bell dangling from the center, the mark of a Mistress of 'The Fair Paramour.' Only they wore collars, no matter how small or simple or jeweled they sometimes were, only the Mistresses wore collars. The girl was once known in the city as the poor beggar Demi, called such for her petite size and shape, she was renamed by Duchess Alora to be Yara only three weeks past. Hoping to encourage her growth in one way or another as she learned the arts of womanhood, Yara means Small Butterfly. She approached rather quickly for the short legs she must have beneath her leather coat, her eyes moving past the cargo, Edgar and even Fenris.
"Captain! Excuse me, Captain Scorn." Called the meekest voice one might barely hear over the soft jingling.

*Edgar heard this faint call coming from behind him. He turned to see Yara approaching the Captain. Edgar quickly dropped the boxes in his hands and made his way down back down the dock. He cut between Yara and Scorn.*
"Now now little missy. Captain Scorn here is someone who only likes talking to to the likes of someone like me. So, what makes you think you can just walk up to Scorn's place of business and demand an audience like that?"
*Scorn turned an ear toward this new development interested in how it would turn out.*

*Fenris did a quick triple-take at what he had just heard.*
"Just as I was starting to like him too... I even did him a favor!" *Fenris muttered to himself.*
*He spun from Scorn and made his way towards Edgar.*
"I really hope you did not do what I think you just did. Do you have any idea who she is? Or better yet, who she works for!?"
*Fenris looked accusingly at Edgar, his expression completely changed from only a minute ago.*
"I hope for your sake that you act this way out of ignorance, and not of prejudice. I was beginning to like you, and I would hate to make another enemy instead of friend."

*Edgar worked his eyes, back and forth between the two. He finally rested his eyes again on Yara. He studied her for a moment.*
"Fenris, my boy, I must apologize. I seem to be meeting several new faces today."
*He knelt down to get closer to eye level with Yara. He brought his voice down a little so that only the two of them could hear.*
"And I apologize to you my dear, even though I don't know what for yet. Might I ask yer name there?"

Yara was obviously startled at first and very confused by the actions before her. She gazed at the man who knelt with her mousey brown eyes as he softly asked her a question. It had been so long since someone asked her name, even when it had been changed, it seemed everyone simply knew. She quickly regained her composure, took a deep breath, and gave the man her bravest-sincere smile (which was tiny like herself). "I am a Mistress if the Duchess Alore," she said gesturing to her collar, "I am called Yara. I apologize for not knowing you, sir, I had believed I knew everyone in Raithem..."
Her eyes moved to Fenris momentarily, "It is good to see you Mister Fenris, My Sanam will appreciate your assistance in educating this fine sir. I am certain she would like to see the both of you at your earliest convenience." She smiled again at both of them before looking toward Scorn.
Yara had the raise her voice so that he might hear her, however even then it was difficult. "Captain Scorn, sir, My Lady, The Duchess has urgent business to discuss." She produced a bound and sealed paper from her sleeve and held it out for Scorn to take.

Edgar stayed knelt for several more minutes. He was not one to get angry or be in anyway hateful toward people he had just met, but something about the events that just transpired didn't sit right with him. Most people seem to enjoy his company, but they still maintained a level of respect for the man. To tell a person that he had also just met to educate him in the matters of royalty was not acceptable to him.
"Edgar, I appreciate you getting your junk off my dock, but why am I still looking at it on the grass? Get those boxes home will ya?"
Scorn's mention of home jogged Edgar back into the current happenings. He spun his head around to look back at the dock and then took a gander toward the direction of Fenris.
"Boy, you better know where to take me if we're to meet with the Duchess. I really don't feel like making the trip alone."
He took ahold of his boxes once again and started the trip back toward his shop.

Yara watched the exchange quietly waiting for Scorn. "I shall escort you to the Duchess, Captain, she requested as much. However she wishes not to be a burden, I will wait until you are ready to leave." The small mousy girl smiled softly at him.
