Nakago ::The prescence of Amiboshi had not come to his attention yet, as knowing they were right next to the boys' rooms, he would obviously sense them close by. But as he took another stop forward, lowering his arm, and Soi did not immediately follow suit, he turned to look back and saw her glance the direction of Amiboshi's door, where his eyes now went. It would turn out to be a good thing that he had not done otherwise concerning the soldier...it had seemed before that the boy was apprehensive, things would have only gone downhill had he chosen another route.::
"A little restless tonighight Amiboshi?" The young seishi gave a quiet sigh of relief as the guard's life was spared. He wondered if the woman hadn't spoken up, if the shogun would have killed the man. Amiboshi wasn't sure if he could work with a man who killed over something that he found so trivial. He was stirred out of his troubled thoughts when addressed, "I suppose so, Lord Nakago. Though I did want to let you know, I've made my decision."

Amiboshi (Takefumi Tonami) The young seishi gave a quiet sigh of relief as the guard's life was spared. He wondered if the woman hadn't spoken up, if the shogun would have killed the man. Amiboshi wasn't sure if he could work with a man who killed over something that he found so trivial. He was stirred out of his troubled thoughts when addressed, "I suppose so, Lord Nakago. Though I did want to let you know, I've made my decision." ::Nakago actually hadn't intended on killing the soldier...puny as he may have been....the fear of punishment can be just as effective as the punishment itsself sometimes. Besides, It wasn't good to be dwindling down the ranks of ones own army. However, the evening had not been kind to him emotionally, and so had Soi not said something, nor the boy been there...he might have.::
::Nakago had hoped the boy would have given a better inclination as to his feelings on what he had surely just seen go on, but the boys words were right to business, and as far as he knew from the little time having known him...no different from before. The boy's decision however, now being apparently made, was a good thing. He had expected to have to wait until the morning and find out before reporting to Yui, but now this would be one less thing to think about.::
"Is that so...And it would be?...
::He left the question dangling, waiting for the answer::

I agree that it would also be the most efficient form of communication to have one of us here, and one of us gone. My powers are more developed than my brother's, so your plan makes perfect sense. It's something I really want to do, and Suboshi will just have to deal with it."

"Excellent"
::He stepped towards Amiboshi's door as he continued::
"The target you see, is one of the Suzaku Seven...and therefore sending mere soldiers alone might not be able to do the job. You will be accompanied by a number of my elite soldiers. I will breif you more thoroughly tomorrow after I have brought Lady Yui up to date."
::He then turned as if to resume his walk but paused, and still facing away spoke, rettaining enough volume to be heard, but not to disturb ayone else from sleep::
"The way you say it...your brother might object...It's not my job to babysit. Be sure he is in agreement enough as well, before tomorrow."
::He then took a few steps in the direction he and Soi had been heading...not so much as to leave Amiboshi completely, without any chance to respond...but moving on nonetheless::

Tomo "Well then," Tomo responded to Tatara's liking of a scenic path, "Past the gate is the main road through the city, but there is a turn-off onto a backroad that goes around the city, a rather pleasant walk that I have taken myself to avoid the crowd. I can lead you as far as there, but I'm afraid I have some rather important business to conclude."
He paused momentarily at the gate to talk to one of the guards. While explaining to the man that he was escorting honored guests of the shogun, Tomo finished creating his masterful illusion. He stole a glance at what lay beyond that gate, a visual check that everything matched. When finished with the guard, Tomo walked through the gate and waited for the Byakko. All was ready, when the pair of seishi stepped beyond the gate, their bodies would remain in the physical world, but their minds would enter a land of illusion, and there, Tomo was Master. |ooc: Let the plot twisting begin! blaugh |
There was one slight problem in regards to Tomo's illusion for only one of the seishi would be present within it mentally. This problem of course lay with the silent Subaru who remained completely motionless due to being 'trapped' within her own mind. As a result she was not aware of the power enveloping her nor of the impending 'doom' that lay beyond the gates. In truth she was also the only one of the Byakko seven that was mature enough to sense this danger and so, Tatara was left to deal with the unexpected.
Unfortunately there was very little way of predicting what would have should Subaru awake during this illusion, what would she see? What would she hear? Would she see what Tatara did or would she be aware of something else? To Tatara, he had the suspicion that she would no doubt be lost within herself for even longer than the duration from Kutou to Seirou and so he would be in charge of the journey...
Such things were not to his liking, for instead of such responsibility he often enjoyed quiet contemplation as he travelled but perhaps, just this once he would do as was his duty and protect his comrade despite her lack of explanation and reasoning for falling into such a stupor in the first place. Perhaps she would explain later though and so, with a deep sigh he pushed his mount forward and tightened his grasp on the reins of Thalin who snorted in obvious disapproval but obliged himself to move at a somewhat quicker pace.
"My apologies for the delays, I am not use to trailing a millstone around my neck, so to speak." He murmured towards Tomo and glanced towards what lay beyond, his lips pursing in both apprehension at the unknown and also anticipation for, despite the peculiar mental distortions of the plant auras, such foreign flowers would be a delight to see.

He turned and went back into his own room, calmly waiting for his brother. ::Amiboshi's answer had been short and direct enough that Nakago did not even feel the need to respond back to it. He simply resumed motion back in the direction he and Soi had been going without another word, hardly even a sound save for his bare feet on the cool floor. The hall led on, turned a coprner and then another and then the passed Yui's room. Servants were hustling and bustling in and out of a nearby room to have it ready for Soi. Finishing the little walk, he stopped in front of his own door and snapped his fingers. One of the servants quite literally dropped what he was doing and sprinted over to answer the call of the Shogun. The orders were simple and clear, and quickly the servant was back on his feet jogging down the hall, as quickly and quietly as possible. Sleep would be a luxury tonight, after waking and now this. Nakago would have plenty to do before the night was done.::

Nakago ::Finishing the little walk, he stopped in front of his own door and snapped his fingers. The orders were simple and clear, and quickly the servant was back on his feet jogging down the hall, as quickly and quietly as possible. Sleep would be a luxury tonight, after waking and now this. Nakago would have plenty to do before the night was done.:: She had listened attentively, to every detail and tone of voice that had been exchanged from before her, almost trying to hear the secret thoughts that passed along outside of them. So Suboshi was the other, but not this one. With a small nod of acknowledgement, knowing they would be more thoroughly introduced the next day, she turned and began following. And though she would be able to meet them both, as well as the dormant bond between herself and the priestess' room as they passed by, she still dwelled on them. They would all likely have to work with one another in some way toward the future. Even her with that cackling performer. Where was Tomo, anyway? She had not heard his familiar screech of a laugh since she had returned.
Of course, Tomo was the least of her worries, and far be it from her to distract attention from Nakago-sama to such a clown. As they stopped in front of his chambers, she watched the retreating back of the servant and glanced down the corridor to the door of her own room. Though pleasant as a proper bed and rest sounded after months of mountains and waterfalls and a day of traveling, she would still be willing to endure more for his sake and so offered, "Is there anything I might be able to assist you with before the night is done, Nakago-sama?"

A breeze rushed passed him, as he had left the window open earlier. He paused for a moment, in thought, the wind tossing the dark blue fabric of the robe and slipping through his hair, whispfully. (If thats a word) After a time of consideration, he spoke up::
"Not tonight Soi...Get some rest."
::He did not know the circumstances of her return trip, nor anything else since he had sent her and Tomo from the palace. He had based his decision on the items already on his mind, and now the addative of Amiboshi's decision. It was good for what needed to happen..but also made for greater planning on his part. (Yesh Nakago you are forgiven, and thank you for speaking up ^_^)Byakko-tachi Such things were not to his liking, for instead of such responsibility he often enjoyed quiet contemplation as he travelled but perhaps, just this once he would do as was his duty and protect his comrade despite her lack of explanation and reasoning for falling into such a stupor in the first place. He murmured towards Tomo and glanced towards what lay beyond, his lips pursing in both apprehension at the unknown and also anticipation for, despite the peculiar mental distortions of the plant auras, such foreign flowers would be a delight to see. "Understandable..." an illusion of Tomo replied as it walked alongside the Byakko in the illusionary world. ::In the real world, the actual Illusion Master was satisfied that he had fully extracted any and everything Nakago would want to know about the young man. Tomo turned his attention to the woman. He wasn't sure if he could do anything with her mind so deeply enveloped somewhere else, but since he was under orders, he could not let it go without any effort. Since he could not predict what would happen, he decided that safety was the best route to take. He created an illusion of himself in the real world, and let it take the reins of the horses he was leading. He commanded his illusion to continue down the path he would take them. He did so simply to stay out of harm's way in the event that he failed and the Byakko retaliated. Caustiously, he let a little bit of his magic seep slowly into her mind, and waited a moment to see if she reacted.::

"Very well, Nakago-sama," her voice had reaffirmed once the doorway was opened and he had been closed from her sight beyond it, along with whoever else had been summoned to wait. With a much softer bid of whispered, "Good night," a slender hand rested momentarily against the cool surface of his door, trailing away along the carved edges as she continued on her own path. When it finally came to rest upon her own gold polished handle of refurbished brass, she pressed down against it and finally entered.
Stepping into the familiar chambers, a light fragrance of green tea and magnolia immediately washed over her senses, pulling them to a relaxed drowsiness she had been unable to sink into prior. As the ambiance seeped into her weary, travel-worn body and soul, she washed thoroughly with warm scented waters, feeling more refreshed than she had for months, and changed. Then finally, as the lucid sweet scarlet locks cascaded across her shoulders and back, she settled into the crisp silken covers prepared for her and finally allowed sleep to overcome her.
For a time, anyway.

::It was only a short wait for the word to spread through the neccessary channels. A trained eye, or one well aware oof their own senses would be able to pick up on the shadowy figures that were converging on the shoguns chambers. Palace guards and the few servants who were taking care of the late night duties were all but oblivious to them, and if they did happen to catch a glimpse or a sound, the would pass it off as shadows in the night. When the majority of those who were left still in the palace had gathered the planning began. Late night became very early morning...and the moon, past its peak began to gall quickly. Slowly dark clad figures would leave, having received their orders. Some would go on ahead of the Kidnapping party and prepare disturbamnces that could be blamed on the Suzaku so that Nakago's claims wouldbe more readily accepted by Amiboshi, and with his reports back through Suboshi, also effect the thoughts of sceptics still in Kutou. He didn''t know the Suzaku to be as sinister as he had made them out to be..but he would need them to belive it to begin motion. Others would be in the party with Amiboshi...and their orders we're simple, Amiboshi was in charge unless he said or did...or began doing anything that might jeapordize the mission...intentionally or not, at which time they could take matters into their own hands. Most of these ones were lower in ability, and thus, did they but know it...we're expendable should anyhting happen, and we're effectively to be targeted by others who were given Their orders after the lesser ones had left. This would add t the effect as well as weed out weaker soldiers fromt he elite class. A select few were to order troop movements, In Nakago' name just enough to get reaction from Konan's soldiers. The more real happenings that could be manipulated to his advantage the better. If a troop of Kutou soldiers could lure some Konan Soldiers near a village and then flee just as the Kidnapping party showed up...Not much more should be needed to convince anyone..But then...he had not gotten to know these new warriors...the Boshi brothers.::
::Shortly after the last had left, his thoughts moved to the ever approaching day. Lady Yu iwould be informed of the arrival of Soi, and each of the Seishi would meet each other, formally for the first time. Tomo shouldr eturn with the desired information at some point...Nakago would have to look into that as soon as possible...because at this point...the Byakko were a sever wildcard. Preparations could begin for the changing of power from the current emperor...Nakago scowled at this point...to Her as empress. This event would spreead quickly through the world and throw everyone a curve unlike anything in a LONG time. Whether the act would actually take place that day or not would be more up to Yui. He knew he couldn't force her into it...not directly..but she had all but agreed to it..even though he was sure she didn't know the implications. This would accomplish more than one of Nakago's purposes...and his thoughts were clear and straightforward on the matter. He would need Tomo when theactual time came for it...But that was a matter for a later time.::
::As the moon drifted slowly towards the horizon, with little distance left, Nakago was finally able to rest...Anything else at this point needed direct interaction with others...so that would begin on the morrow. Nakago drifted quickly off to sleep, his mind more settled than it had been before...dreamless this time...which was to his benifit.::
::First light was quick in coming...but not quick enough. Nakago's body and mind...the mind and body of a soldier, despite the long night, woke bfore the sun began to rise....he was awake and in full armor as the sky lightened, but before the sun could be seen. He would Visit Yui, right around sunrise, and then things could begin.::

The mind of Tatara was a simple one, his memoriesd full of enjoyable moments and very little pain. Those that claimed any form of sadness were merely the death of his pet kitten and the time is younger brother had harmed himself in a fall, aside from that he had not only loving parents, but also loving grandparents and he had been given the best of everything, particularly because of the infamous symbol upon his hand.
Nevertheless, there was one memory that stoood out, that memory was of a slightly younger Tatara as he wandered through the streets of Sairou. Although the words were distorted and blurred, it was clear that something or someone had called out towards him and his head had snapped in the direction of the temple of Byakko, his lips pursing in confusion.
There was then a pause before the symbol upon the back of his hand flashed brightly and he appeared to release a shriek as he fell to the ground, clutching his hand protectively to his chest with his expression one of pain. His entire body convulsed as the symbol burned angrily upon his hand...yet it somehow seemed incomplete.
***
As for Subaru, the magic seeping into her mind would soon approach a barrier, yet upon this barrier were just a few memories, perhaps they had been deliberately placed there, or perhaps they had been recent thoughts that lingered beyond the range of protection around the seishi's mind however one in particular appeared to be in regards to her origins...
Upon inspection, it appeared that where she was born was 'infested' with women and those men that were present appeared to have had their eyes gouged out. Those women seemed to hold a slight disdain for men however the main focus was upon a woman that looked similar, yet older than Subaru herself.
"No Subaru, you must understand never to go near that fiend again!" she snapped before the image faded away to be replaced with another, this time of a man whose eyes were closed and his head was bowed. Again, the memory came from the eyes of Subaru herself and so...none could truly see how she appeared in those days.
"You know much about this don't you?" she was asking in a soft voice as she lifted up a tiny hand and bathed the man's eyes carefully, "Won't you tell me?"
"Subaru, you are one of the seven chosen of Byakko, the deity of the west," The man replied, "Destined to protect his priestess when she comes to this world to summon him forth, in return, she will be granted three wishes and all seven chosen will be heroes, you will bring honour to your family name in serving him in such a way."
"But -"
"You are not allowed to leave?"
There was a not and the man chuckled, "Freedom is one thing the deities bestowed upon us, none can oppress this for long. You are given the choice and one day you will find a point in which you must decide to take the path set before you or remain here."
"What about mother?"
The man shorted, obviously disgusted at the mere mentioned of the woman.
"Your mother will be angry, no doubt we shall feel her wrath but this is your destiny Subaru! Find Sairou, the city within the desert and you will find solace."
"Are all males like you?"
"Like me?" The man appeared to be amused.
"Yes, so kind and polite."
"No Subaru, that is why these women hate us...tread carefully within the real world, there are those that would strive to take advanatage of you and then harm you. Though do remember, their desires may be used against them."
"Desires?"
"You will understand in time little one, you will understand..."
And thus the memory faded and the symbol upon the woman's breast flashed angrily at the intrusion into her mind, the mental barrier increasing as though Subaru was not holding up the protective veil around her but somebody else was.

Nakago ::First light was quick in coming...but not quick enough. Nakago's body and mind...the mind and body of a soldier, despite the long night, woke bfore the sun began to rise....he was awake and in full armor as the sky lightened, but before the sun could be seen. He would Visit Yui, right around sunrise, and then things could begin.:: ::Nakago stood before the full body mirror. The glint of the ever approaching morning reflecting off the polished armor, and threatening to give a faint glow to his lockes of blonde. He ran one hand through it flipping it out, only to come to rest upon the vibrant blue cape that swayed from side to side as he turned from the mirror and stpped to the door. Food had been prepared and left just inside the door, but he only partook of a small portion. He was expecting to probably dine with Yui or the other Seishi or both, ad di not want to eliminate all traces of an appetite. He turned in his room towards one of the walls..yes...Tomo was still at work...this cold mean a number of things....and time and his return would be the telling factors. He turned again and slid the door of his room open and stepped into the hallway. still too early for the normal palace hustle and bustle, the walk to the Shrine of Seiryuu was quiet. Kneeling in fron of one of the ppols of water, he began focusing his power on the already cast barrier that was all but maintained by his will alone. The shrine itsself was direcly gaurded by Seiryuu's on power...Nakago simply expanded on this principal with power of his own. With the upcoming events in mind...he wanted to be sure there was no unexpected interferance. Having meditated and focused as much as he felt neccessary, he ros again and stepped back into the halls and began the walk towards lady Yui's room.::
