Eleria held her cloak tightly around herself as she continued to make her way in and out of the almost pitch black alleyways. "It has to be around here someplace?" she questioned searching along the walls as she went along. She looked up at the rooftops, the numbers seemed as if they were growing, soon there would be no sign of the moon left behind the number of thieves and assassins that lined the roof tops.
Someone jumped down off the nearest roof top, ELeria couldn't help but jump backwards slighlty before regaining her composure. "What is the little princess doing out so far away from home?" the creepy man asked as he tossed his knife in the air only to catch it with the other hand moments later.
"I am looking for something if you would please let me pass?" she asked impatiently hoping the man would let her. She didn't feel like being the cause of anyones death. But she needed to seem as if she was demon and didn't care for anything deeply enough to spare there lives.

Elliot wiped her knife off, annoyed. No puddles or anything anywhere where she could clean them off PROPERLY, so she had to get her stupid cloak all dirty... Thankfully, there wasn't that much blood, she had only threatened the guy and took off a slice of his arm, nothing deadly (or even particularly complicated). She sheathed the knife again on her belt, and leaned against the wall, lazily. Now what? The poor bugger had almost nothing on him anyways; she had even let him keep most of the gold! She had enough to last her for a while from when she broke into a carriage.... And she hald almost gotten caught, too. But no one ever catched Elliot. She was simply leaning there, thinking, when something caught her eye. There was a peice of rolled-up and tattered parchement on the ground, something her victim had been reading..... She swiped it up, Tommy brushing against her legs, purring. "Tommy, you're the cutest...." She scuffed the little cat's head before righting herself and reading the letter. The grey and black cat sat and stopped running against his friend and looked up at her curiously as she read. The paper looked like something good for him to pounce on.... "Hello,hello...." Elliot said softly, reading the letter. She looked down to Tommy with a bright, but cunning, smile. "Baby, think we just got a sweet break...." She looked the letter over again, before folding it up carefully. The feline just cleaned his face at that comment, small furry paws cleaning a set of small, folded ears. "We get to sleep in an Inn tonight maybe, Tommy...wouldn't you like that..?" She scooped the small, again purring, cat up. Elliot had a plan, and so far, it sounded good. Time to head to the Dead Man's Inn.... Then she heard something, almost felt it. A dark, slimy thought. Mmmm, such a pretty girl.... Well...she had time for a detour, maybe, if her instincts were right... She hated slimy people.

Part of the wall nearby the creepy mugger man shifted and stepped forward, resolving into a cloaked woman holding a very shiny dagger to his throat. It was pressed there just enough to let him know the blade was sharp, steel, and that he'd be dead if he moved. When she spoke, her voice was deceptively smooth and calm, almost curious.
"Well, now. A scary man in a dank little alley stalking a pretty girl." She paused, sizing him up. "Circumstances make this look bad on your part. And when in the world did you last bathe?" Scritch added, her nose wrinkling.
She glanced sidelong at Eleria. "By the way, you seem to know where things are. I'm looking for a 'Dead Man's Inn.' Lovely name." There was a sense of her rolling her eyes. "Could you point me in the right direction? I've been wandering around this place for hours." The elf put a little more pressure to the other thief's neck in case he was thinking of trying anything.
((And, er, hello! I was told I could start, so, here I am. sweatdrop ))

Eleria looked at the stranger with an uncertain smile upon her face, "The dead mans inn is back that way if you follow this alley way you should come right to it." she turned to go then thought for a moment. Why would somone like that be looking for this specific in. "If you don't mind but may I inquire as to why you are trying to find this dead mans inn?" She looked at her hope slowly returning but also fear. Fear that she would be let down once again that this woman had not come to find her for the quest.
She looked at the man being held at knife point with a sigh, "some people just never seem to wish to learn." shaking her head she looked behind herself quickly in the direction she had come from. She knew that she was being followed by many assassins but there was someone else as well. It must be Devon, she could almost sense him getting closer in a way. "Damn one of these days I really will get away without him noticing. Getting attacked one second then being followed the next, if he gets himself killed because of me? She thought to herself then turned her full attention back to the stranger.

"Not for sport, that's certain." Using her free hand, Scritch patted around her waist for a moment, still holding the man at dagger-point. "Ah, here it is." Drawing a folded piece of slightly worn paper out of her pocket, the elf held up the square at about shoulder level for inspection. "This letter. Apparently, there's a reward to be had."
Carefully, she unfolded the paper in one hand and tried to straighten it out unceremoniously by waving it back and forth sharply. "I'm short on funds at the moment, and the proposition written here doesn't much scare me. Starts off 'To anyone unafraid of death,' and says the reward comes after the deeds are done, so... I don't plan on dying." And, on the plus side, the binding contract mentioned on the letter would keep her out of reach of the authorities. They wouldn't arrest an ally of their princess, after all.
Scritch folded the letter back up and tucked it back in her pocket, looking back to the man still at the other end of her blade. "Oh. You. What are you still doing here? Go, scat."

"You know," came Devon's voice from the direction Eleria had just recently come from, "If I had a pound for every moment I've caught you sneaking out, I'd be rich... well, more than you anyway," he teased, lightly tapping the guard of his weapon against his shoulder.
His eyes passed between and examined the trio. Only one of the two new faces were hostile, and that one belonged to the man. He stepped forward, his eyes now locked on the unarmed man. Looming over him, the Royal Knight whispered threats into his ear. A look of utter distaste took the man's expression as he leaned away. "Now go." Horrified, the man burst past the Princess in full sprint, tripping twice as he ran for dear life. "Tch, another fourth rate."
He turned to the elf, his expression relaxed as it could be. "I thank you for assisting the princess," he spoke with a softer tone this time. Slowly, he gave a respectful bow, not very low however. Assistance or not, Devon was not one who trusted easily. I'm going to guess your here to accompany us. Words did not need to be said. He knew the answer. Why else would an elf of all creatures, or any for that matter, make an appearance at this dreary place?

"The princess?" The elf's brows raised slightly in surprise, and she glanced at Eleria momentarily, sheathing her dagger. "The princess mentioned on the letter? I suppose that means I don't have to find the inn." She grinned, and there was something off about the expression. Not wrong, persay, but... odd. Something to do with the teeth...
Scritch looked back to Devon. "You must be the bodyguard, then." He wasn't mentioned on the letter, but there was always a bodyguard for a high-ranking member of society. And, much like Devon himself, she sized up this new individual.
He had a feeling of power about him. It seemed to radiate, or maybe seep into the area just surrounding him. Power and skill. She'd seen the expression the princess had had when she'd heard him, or at least when he'd gotten nearby; the bodyguard had been tailing her, and she hadn't wanted him to. The bow, she noticed, was more out of manners than actual gratitude, judging by his expression and the depth of the bow itself.
All this had been surmised in a few seconds, while the events were happening. You learned to think fast in this profession.
He doesn't trust me. Or hold me in any particular respect, I... think. Not yet, anyway, she thought. Not that the elf really expected him to. A good bodyguard couldn't afford to trust just anyone, after all, so this one had to know what he was doing.
Scritch flashed another smile. "Nice to meet the two of you."

Elliot gave Thomas a stern look, and the feline understood; No was work time. Play time, and food time, would be later. He jumped nimbly from her arms, landing almost silent on his padded feet, and Elliot took his advice; Quiet, yes indeed. That was the plan, but unfortunately, plans don't always go off hitchlessly, as the slimey man son came bolting past her. He didnt even give the thief a second look as he ran, and Elliot sighed. "Grimy b*****d..." She muttered, quietly, in what could be compared to today's frenchified tones. Well, that ruins her reason to be silent, then. Time to head to the Inn. She kept walking, after calling Thomas to her side. The Inn wasn't far, anyways, just down the same alley she had been headed in before.
