A small movement of young shoulders indicated some sort of shrug as Nen looked down at the ground byond her paws. She hadn't seen the others since that one meeting...so most likely there would be no pack or bond. However, for Ravii's sake, the teal pup replied with a , "maybe..." instead of saying "not really."
Flicking an ear, and then wrapping her short tassle around a haunch, Nuenen glanced back up at Ravii. "Why is Ravii alone?" it was probably an invasive question, but that's a pup's mind for ya.

Ravii wasn't stupid, and Nen's half-hearted shrug wasn't the response she'd hope so. Was life that hopeless for the pup? The poor darlings evasive and shy nature reminded Ravvi of nothing but fear.
Obviously the pup had been scarred earlier on by some wolf or another. Given, her personality might very well be reserved and cautious, but . . . there was a difference between uncertainty and fear.
A shame, really. But, perhaps with some time, the little Nen would walk through life with more confidence, more hope. Maybe Ravii could offer a little assurance that not all adults were cruel and commanding, that not all were looking out to eat those smaller than them.
"Just keep your chin up, Nuenen," Ravii reassured with a gentle whine, "You're far too pretty to let your eyes stare solely at your paws." Maybe not the best reassurance in the world, but Ravii wasn't going to feed her sugar-coated words. There were no guarentees for loners, and for a pup!
Ravii had half a mind to entice the young one to stick around, to feed her a few square meals and make sure she found some stability. Basic hunting skills - fishing! Ravii could teach her how to fish, to nibble upon unsuspecting frogs and minnows.
Her thoughts and daydreams were interrupted by a question - "Why is Ravii alone?"
Invasive, sure, but Ravii had nothing to hide. There were no trauma stories, no moments of shame and embarressment that the shewolf was hiding. "Well," she began thoughtfully, softly, before emitting a gentle laugh. It was her turn to shrug her shoulders. "I've been alone all my life. I don't remember my family, and learned to live as best I could.
"I traveled all over as I grew, and even joined a few packs, but nothing permanent or lasted long. I was often the omega, and just . . . didn't find any reasons to stay, I suppose."
A few flashes of colour, of warmth, of protection - memories onl marred by death or defeat.
"I only came back here recently," she admitted, "This was where I was born, and if I'm going to be alone anywhere, I think here is as nice a spot as any. I never had a chance to settle and start my own pack, or find one I fit in."
No, the light hearted Ravii just had difficulting finding a place to truly call home.
She was comfortable living on her own. Though someday the cream and violet female hoped to find a place to belong, she wasn't actively searching.
Yet.

A tail tip swished at the compliment, but soon stopped and all attention was put on what the older female was saying currently. The small pup had to agree with most of her words - the one's about "here" being nice and all-, but despite the compliments of home, Nen could still sense, and see, traces of mixed emotions flicking across Ravii's features.
"I like Here. It is nice and...and there are a lot of little animals to play with," the teal pup commented with a nod, deciding to not ask about the older wolf's emotions or what not.
(( x-o; crappy post. Sorry. ))

((No worries! <3 Sorry if mine's sucky too. I'm not really sure where else to go with this - and since she's now "technically" an adolescent, would you want to start wrapping this up? *grins* ))
Nen's sweet innocense and opinions made any regrets and annoyances of her past melt away. The teal striped pup was right - it was nice, and there were other creatures to investigate. Ravii couldn't say she'd "played" with any of them in a good while, but Nen didn't need to know particulars. The last time she'd toyed with a passing frog or hare (without the intention of devouring it!) well. . . it had been a very long time.
A shame that life couldn't be carefree and innocent forever. Perhaps that's why Ravii enjoyed the company of the small ones. A pups life was to be coddled and doted with affection and love - to find games in everything, to be fearless and invincable.
Maybe that wasn't every pups dream, but it was what Ravii wished of her own young life. Poor Nen - it seemed the cream and teal female didn't get that sort of a life, not with starvation lurking around every corner.
But be that as it may - at least Ravii had offered the little one a meal. Resting her head on her paws, she looked up at the little pup and gave a small smile. Reaching over with one of her paws, she playfully pushed the little one over. "If you ever need help hunting, or are in need of anything, anything at all, you just give a call. All right?" It was a random request, but one Ravii hoped Nen would take to heart.
She'd been on her own all her life, and there were times all Ravii had wanted was some wolf to help. To fall back upon. Ravii couldn't be a mother or a pack to the little teal striped female, but she could be a loyal and dependable friend.

An ear cocked itself, and her plume gave a small sway, as the words of a kind offering were given to her. Nuenen hadn't heard many kind words in her short life, and so those given now could be considered almost extra special.
Lifting herself to all four pillars, the teal female gave the signs of a small smile and nodded her head. "Thank'oo, miss Ravii. You have been kind to me, and I will remember your offer always, you'll see. But I must go now, the birdy friends are whistling in the trees, and I must join them, so may I go, please?" Her soft voice fell suddenly into what was actually her normal speak; words that rhymed together to form poetical, however childish, sentences. She wasn't sure why she asked to go, though...it just seemed to be the right thing to do.

Ravii gave a gentle laugh, and reached up a paw to lightly bat at the little teal and white pup. "Such formalities," she smiled, blue eyes bright. "You needn't ask permission from me, Nuenen," she told the little one. "But I do hope to see you soon. Take care and if you ever need a snack. . . ."
She let her sentance hang, certain that the white one would pick up on the offer. Oh, how Ravii feared for the little teal striped pup! Her heart went out to the girl, and the cream wolf could only hope upon hope that she'd be safe. Such a timid little thing, with any luck the others that she was bound to run into would be gentle and sweet with the petite femme.
((Short post, sorry, but there's not much she can do until Nen leaves. :3 Care to finish this thing off for us? ))

A small smile lit itself upon her equally small muzzle when the larger wolf extended a paw and lightly tapped her teal head. Small tail swished before giving a small dip of the head and turning 'round. A small glance was cast over her shoulder, and then she thrust her body forward into the tall grasses, and like the last of the morning fog, was gone.
(( x_x so sorry this took so long. ))
