Fatal Frame has always spooked me its mostly because of how close you have to get to the ghost and the little creepy things that show up here and there
as for Resident Evil i never really found it scary, creepy, or spooky i just found it fun and a bit odd ( like in Resident Evil 4 Why would the President only send one agent to rescue his daughter? )

when i played silent hil(at least i think it was) the lighting was bad. but it was fun killing things that looked like bags of raw meat

Oh, I love survival horror. My first - and still greatest love - was the Silent Hill series. I love everything about it, and I still think it has some of the best stories and characters I've ever seen. I also enjoy a liberal amount of RE, especially the first one - hey, it's a classic!, and I'm currently playing through all the FF games.
I also enjoy some others on the side, including border line ones such as Parasite Eve, which I'm really enjoying at the moment. I think the only survival horror I've tried and really disliked is Siren, which was just horrid on all levels.
