Having played the games in both English and Japanese, I can say they're all really good. Keeping in mind, for the originals the lack of technology as compared to today and the 'oh so exquisite translations' (Or lack thereof in the case of the original 2,3,4) Each one has thier own Merits smile

Final Fantasy: Pioneer game, no two ways about it. The idea of completely customizing your team before the adventure starts was a nifty thing to do, presenting many possible challenges and variety.

Final Fantasy II: Good story, much better than the last. Introduced the Memorize keywords system, though it wasnt' used later on through out the series. Memorable, to a point, also serving as some wealth of references later on in Final Fantasy 9. The growth system was engineered differently, and allowed for completely customizable charactesr, but took too long to work with. The newer versions changed the names a LOT. points are lost for that.

Final Fantasy III: Cute, adventurous and the first game with Job changes! The Original story was thin, but it was better (IMO) to have the characters all been adopted children. None of this Luneth Arc business.
The Job change system was irritatingly changed in the DS remake, though it provides an element of challenge moreso than the other.

Final Fantasy IV: The dawn of Active Time Battle and Static class characters. Story is well though out, bringing to the forefront the quest!
Downside: So little else to do sad

[Its getting late. I'll list rant tomorrow >.<]

The only Final Fantasy I have ever played was FF Tactics Advance for the GBA. I've never fully completed the game. The first time I started it, someone stole my game cartridge. I finally got another cartridge last Christmas and have recently got into it again. I'm doing things differently, but I suppose I love it because it's a game I can actually play. I love RPG games and this is by far my favorite.

FF VII takes the cake especially when cloud had to dress like a girl (because i was pretty young when it first came out) and i just thought it was silly but now that i'm older i know if thats how people choose to be let it be ^^

Final Fantasy X. It has a good story line. I like the battle system, its easier because i'm not a fast thinker. The ending was sad.

Final Fantasy VIII. I'm up to the Lunatic Pandora on Disc 3. When Rinoa is unconscious on the bed. That bit is so sweet. It nearly made me cry. Ahhh! can't stop thinking about it.

I want to play Final Fantasy VII. The discs are so old they hardly work anymore.
