Conscience At The Tone My favorite Rent pair would have to be Mark and Joanne; not because they fit together romantically, but because their characters have this really interesting common thread of being the jilted one... and they play off each other comedically in such an awesome way. Neverbinding Interesting as in Maureen and Benny? o__________O;; That's not so wierd.... I mean, Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs are married. Yeah, I know, I freaked when I heard that, too.

I love it when they're together; it's so amusing!
I think MaureenxBenny would be weird but not impossible,
because IdinaxTaye is just freakin' sweet.

I love Roger/Mimi and Collins/Angel way too much, but I also like Maureen/ Joanne. I just wish Mark had gotten someone in the end. Of course, Larson originally had him getting back together with Maureen (as La Boheme has), but the producers wanted Maureen to either be gay or straight.

Nobody wanted maureen to be gay *or* straight. she was written as bisexual, and Tango Maureen makes it very clear that she is bi. Jonthan larson wanted Mark and Maureen to end up together, yes, but what the producers wanted was to make sure the musical wasn't a complete match with La Boheme. [/snobby moment] sorry, i get really hung up on the specifics of that sort of thing.

and maureenxjoanne is awesome. it's like one of
those relationships thats complex-ish, but if you
love each other enough, you can get through anything.
plus it's hot.

in real life. roger's too emo for mark... and i've had
friends like roger and mark, and i just can't see it
