Flower Petals

Sweet succulent tastes upon my tongue
Sending seizure-like messages down my spine
Yet shards of glass pierce my lungs
And my feet entangle and I fall out of line

Here I am again, amongst the lilies and the roses
The daises, the lilacs, the petunias are in full bloom
All that I've been contorted for into grotesque poses
Has been overshadowed by a heavy gloom

Crack! Crack! goes my broken and and skull
As the glass travels and the flowers petals drift
Like I drift into a limbo, a pause, a halt, a lull
And come full stop, because I can no longer lift

Myself and my heart above the betrayal of my own
I knew she loved me the last few seasons
But how would I ever reveal myself when I'm scared of being alone?
Poor dear, she doesn't know, but I have my reasons

Dearest love of my mine, you're more than you know
For the last life I've lived so very recently
I've been broken too hard a time, my heart's on show
I'm not sure I can love her decently

Ghost

The reality sets heavy upon her like death upon a corpse
And the pillows are salty; the tissues gone
she cools her face in cold ice water and dries her eyes
with shaking hands
She fears for her life, it's out of control
And down the drain
Faster than a tornado of shower water
she sits in the dark and sleeps no more
A knife in her hand, a pen in the other
Hunched over, with no light
She writes and writes of fears
She thought she left behind so long ago
Malevolent haunts that swoop upone her unexpecting soul
When she is so weak
Tender, vulnerable
How, she asks her self, could I become so enervated by one person?
She shivers and throws her pen across the room, and hears it clatter
Like that time, like every time before
When that ghost catches up with her
And strikes fear in her fragile heart
Always so fragile, so delicate is she when the ghost attacks
Its sharpened claws reaching out
She puts her faith in it against her better judgement
She has no one else to protect her and she can barely protect herself
So she lets the haunt embrace her again
Knowing she doesn't want it
But wants comfort, and someone
When no one else is there, the ghost comes
And takes her away
She lays her hand in its clawed limb, suddenly expecting peace
As soon as the thought forms
She feels a pain and hears a deafening roar in her ears
The nefarious traitor has sunk its claws
Deep into her flesh
And sink deeper still when she tries to pull away
Blood spurts from the wounds on her arm but
It doesn't seem to want to stop
Flowing forth from injuries of more than physical pain
Her body becomes limp, her face pallid and gaunt
Against the sharp blackness
She knows, again, that she's failed.

This one is my personal favorite so far...but I have yet to read all of them...

For you

Crying alone again
In the shadow of another
Tell me you love me
I will give up my everything
for you

She is just so much more
Than I could ever give
But you know, love,
She lies about everything
to you

Barely standing
Will you be my cane?
Tell me you want me
I will leave it all behind
for you

Her heart plays so sweetly
The notes deceive you
Honey, do you believe her?
She fakes it all the time in front
of you

I am still shaking
From the passion you give me
Just tell me you need me
I promise to always be there
for you

How can she surpass me?
Her and all her lying vices
She is only using you
For her selfish reasons, not
for you

I have fallen in love
Can you not see me
In all of my misery?
Tell me you love me
Honey, please. I will do it
for you.

I can really relate to this one.

"Ghost" is about a rape, if that isn't obvious. It's one of my favorites...actually, all of my own are my favorites. I love my poetry, despite its errors. ^_^
Thanks.

We will meet in the place where the is no darkness.

A bridge, a wall, a gap
There's something in between you and I
I want to see you
I want to hold your hand
But it's just wishful thinking
that even I can barely understand

I feel as if I'm bleeding
from the corner of my eye
When the tears begin to fall
And no one is here to console me
When I'm in dire need
Of a guide, a comforting soul
Someone to protect me

I think I need a break
A well deserved vacation
From all the insanity that dominated my life
Before I met you
The serenity is amazing
It's only because of you
That I'm just barely standing today

You, the one I love
When will we meet?
I need you now more than ever before
But then again,
everybody says that.

The one I love,
Who are you?
Can you not see me?
I'm the one standing all alone
Waiting for you to give me company

Note: The title comes from a quote in George Orwell's 1984

They're good. it's just...I don't get, "hooked." It's just not attention catching. I'm not sure what it is, but try mixing up the flow, rhyming a little here and there(You don't need to make the whole poem rhyme, but try a little here and there.) Great poems though, but they have a potential to be so much better.

They sound better when sung. >.<

But thanks! I do have a few rhyming ones, I just haven't gotten off my lazy butt to go get them and type them out. Sheesh, I'm laaaaazy. But thanks for the comments! I know I have a lot of room for improvement. >.< Thanks again! ^_^

I mean the poems were great, but I just think they'd sound better with a mix up. These are by far some of my favorite poems in this guild. I'm lazy to.lol I just recently wrote Fathoms of Love after about a three week poetry break. Ofcourse, hopefully I'll write another soon. Good job.

Oh, why thank you! ^_^

Yeah...a lot of my poems are very...similar. Not in just subject, but in tone and voice and rhythm...er...lack of. >.<

Haha! XD

Thanks! I think I've read some of yours before, but I just don't remember...now I'm going to look! *searches*

Dare she...?

Dare she remain?
Dare she choose to stay
Where nobody knows her
Where nobody wants her

She now lies in solitude
Fearing more vicissitude
Wanting more than what she has
Dare she even grasp?

Dare she turn away?
Dare she choose to run
From all that try to blind her
From all that try to blame her

Dare she remain?
Dare she choose to stay
Where nobody knows her
Where nobody wants her

Nobody sees her

Not when she hugs herself
Does she feel any better?

Tearing down social walls
Does anyone hear her calls?
And when she quits this day
Well, who's to say?

Dare she turn away?
Dare she choose to run
From all that try to blind her
From all that try to blame her

Dare she remain?
Dare she choose to stay
Where nobody knows her
Where nobody wants her

Where nobody sees her

Not when she hugs herself
Does she feel any better?

And she's standing there
Does anybody notice

Arc-en-ciel

The blank pages before me
they burn my eyes with their impurity
And I drift into a zone so numbly
Far from truth, far from reality
I fall into the canvas
Before I take my first stroke
And add color to the mass
Of egg white missing its yolk

The brush flows like a river
Creating a rainbow of beauty
With flowers that quiver
Beneath the gentle sea
Of crispy winds and of rays
Of sunshine and heat
Painting these happy days
Brings me back to my seat

I snap into reality
Realizing my loverlorn state
And my mortality
But I could never hold a hate
So red and fiery for those meadows
For those saplings waiting to mature
Only no one will ever know
Of these sarced deities of nature

Not unless I give my arc-en-ciel
Give her my everything
I swear I'll give her my all
A bit of something, a bit of nothing
A little bit of all I have to give
I'll give her what I have
Hopefully for as long as we live
And I'll never have to ask

For her to give me her arc-en-ciel
Give me her everything
Or nothing at all
But I already have something
But I can be patient and I can wait
Because I love her with all of my heart
And hopefully this is our fate
In her arc-en-ciel, I want to play a part

Note: "Arc-en-ciel" is a French word meaning "rainbow."

Out of Luck; Out of Time

You're out of luck; out of time
Baby you're no longer in your prime
Maybe it's best if you don't test
Father Time

Back on the streets again
Only to come to another end
Gambling through each dime
Running out of luck, running out of time

Would they spare a cent or two?
You've got nothing else to do
And you will beg until the morn
Maybe then you'll be reborn

Because...

You're out luck; out of time
Baby you're no longer in your prime
Maybe it's best if you don't test
Father Time

Resting in peace is hard to do
When everyone is looking at you
Won't cut you a break
Might prove you a fake

Darling, I'm pulling the strings
I will until your knell rings
Watch you die on the streets tonight
You put up your best fight

But...

You're out of luck; out of time
Baby you're no longer in your prime
Maybe it's best if you don't test
Father Time

Little Light

Just when I feel so empty and feel so hollow
And when my hands are so cold
This warm light, so golden, so pure
Fills me with that happiness
Which for so long had evaded me
And when I fall, I know
That I will have a safety net

Just when the scream leaves my lips
And when I can't bear it any longer
My little warm light moves so swiftly and flickers
And frightens away what inspires fear in me
So glad am I, for my little light
Glad for the capture of this rare little light

Now that this little light is in my hands
I can rest assure that everything
Will be fine in the end
Whether or not that light stays lit forever
Or if it could blow away at any moment
I'm content knowing that it is alight for me now

Alley way

Creeping along the alley way at night
Can you not hear my brittle bones cracking
As I tread upon what sounds like broken glass?
During the hour after all have gone to bed
Before they even dare to wake
When the taverns have already flushed out the drunks
And the ladies of the corners have sealed
Sexual deals for a bit of green

It is during that hour you will find me
Walking along like an undead skeleton
My feet hit the stone paved alley ground
Clickity clack, clickity clack
And then crack! crack! crack!
Goes the whip in my hand
And crippled and crumpled goes the man
Who stands before so daringly
On a cold night in the alleyway

He screams at me not to kill him
He lies about having three children and a wife
Thusly so, I quickly seize him by the throat
Yet his diarrhea of the mouth did not cease
So I ripped out his tongue in high hopes
And my wish was granted
He bled to death right there in my arms
I giggled to myself with glee
And threw his body down
I stretched and walked away gracefully
Down the alleyway

No one will ever find my wispy frame
In the broad daylight of a sunny day
Nor will anyone ever find my place of residence
For my sheer existence is dependent on keeping myself hidden
Away from the eye of an open society
I keep my lifestyle mine and only mine
As I live, sleep, eat, and breathe
In that alley way

Note: I've never actually killed anyone, just to let you all know! ^_^
