"It's nothing," she said, smiling at him as he sulked on the other side of the room. There was a sudden loud slamming niose on the first floor of the cathedral, forcing Lark and Raven's attention from one another. She quickly made her way to the door and saw that Aki was staring down the hallway.
"What happened, Aki?" she asked.

Aki turned to face her and shrugged, "I don't know," he responded, "it sounded like something fell over downstairs,"

Lark made her way down the hallway and placed her hands on the bannister of the walkway that allowed her to overlook the large opening of the first floor's entryway. She leaned over and noticed that the large grandfather clock that had been in the cathedral long before she had found it had been thrown across the room, and now lay in a heap of debris on the other side of the room.
"That's... odd..." she muttered, heading for the stairs to go down to the first floor.

"Don't look at me like that," Aki muttered to Raven as they stood together on the second floor and watched Lark start to investigate the shattered clock, "I didn't do it, if thats what you're thinking,"
He jumped from the balcany and landed gracefully on his feet on the first floor and walked over to his Mistress to help her clean up the clock.

Raven exhaled through his nose in a distasteful huff and walked down the staircase to assist as well.
"If you didn't do it, than who did?" he asked, gently moving his Mistress aside, letting her know that the two of them could handle it.

"How should I know?" Aki snapped back, lifting a large portion of the clock and carrying it out the door that Lark had opened for them and set it down next to the fire wood pile at the side of the cathedral.

Raven took the second large portion of the clock and followed Aki outside, it was windy, and the sky was dark as usual, "You were the only one out there," Raven said, continuing the argument.

"Stop fighting, you two," Lark scolded the demons as she dropped an armful of the smaller pieces of splintered wood onto the firewood pile. "Aki, I don't think you had anything to do with the clock," she said, petting his arm consolingly. She then turned to Raven and sighed, "Raven, you know that something odd has been happening in the cathedral lately... maybe this was just another one of those wierd occurances?"

"Weird things only started to happen when Aki got here," Raven muttered as he walked back into the catherdral and swept the rest of the clock remains out the front door. He knew that it wasn't really Aki's fault for the strange happenings lately, but he still found himself accusing him all the same.

"Mistress, can I ask you something?" Aki asked Lark as she began to walk back towards the cathedral. The wind was picking up, there was a storm heading their way.

Lark stopped and turned to face her demon, "Of course you can, Aki," she said with a concerned look. "What is it?"

he paused for a moment. thinking about how he wanted to phrase his question, "You... you don't actually think it's my fault for all the strange occurances around here, do you?" he asked, looking at the ground.

Lark lightly touched his face with her finger tips as the wind violently gust past, snapping at the edges of her clothing and making her hair flow to the side, "Of course I don't, Aki," she said, "And I know for a fact that Raven really knows its not your fault either.. no matter what he says."

Lark's fingers were ice cold to the touch, Aki couldn't resist but to capture her delicate hands into his own in an idle attempt to warm them for her, despite his efforts to disobey her from time to time, she was undenyably still his Mistress, and he was compelled to care about her wellbeing above anything else.
"Thank you," he said as the sky began to release drops of freezing rain onto them.

Lark smiled at his attempt to warm her hands, "There's no need to thank me," Lark said, "I trust you," she added, fully aware that Aki still had the untamed demon's natrual insticts supressed deep within himself, just as Raven had before they had created the ultimate bond between master and servant.
She knew that it wasn't possible to create the same kind of bond with Aki, or any other being for that matter, that she shared with Raven.. their souls and hearts were now one entity in two bodies, all she could do was trust Aki with all of her heart, like she had Raven, in what seemed like ages past, during their fight against the Elder Lords.
"Let's go inside before it really decides to downpour," Lark said, taking his hand and leading him towards the cathedral.
