Zhiege I'm in love with so many wirters! mmm...my favorites are probably Edgar Allen Poe, Stephen King, Ann Rice, Neil Gaiman, and Garth Nix, and Robert Jordan. I'm like so many books, I can't pick a favorite! My favorite series is the Vampire Chronicles, by Ann Rice. Either that or Wheel of Time. I'm currently reading: "Ravenor Returned" "A mind without purpose will walk in dark places." Heh, I love that quote!

Yeah. Fans generally speaking aren't going to be good book authors. I just bought a prequel for Wheel of Time, called New Spring, because all bookstores fail at life and don't have the latest book from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. I have been to everywhere I can think of, except two bookstores that are in downtown Minneapolis, to look for this book and nobody has it emo

TA Barron, CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, Cornelia Funke, Eoin Colfer, Douglas Adams, and Orson Scott Card are all good. As for books, there are way too many. That's what I get for reading all the time, I suppose. I like most of the books the authors I listed wrote, including House of the Scorpion, the Halo books, the Midnighters series, some of the Redwall books, and the Inheritance series.
None of those authors can even compare to Ayn Rand, though. However, she writes philosophy, so her books can't really be judged against fantasy and sci-fi. I'm currently reading her Atlas Shrugged and am almost finished (unfortunately). Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is really good as well.
