Jareth felt decidedly awkward in the silence that followed, he hated making small talk, which was probably why the other courtiers tended to hold him at arms length when it came to social occasions. He was respected, but hardly the most popular monarch of his peer group. It was people like his cousin with their natural flare and eloquence and not to mention charisma, who got on in this kind of atmosphere. He had charmed a few humans who had wandered into his Labyrinth but in the seelie court he was mostly viewed as being quite brooding, and he was, but that was mainly because he often had more pressing things on his mind.
"So, er...Are you enjoying your stay here in the Underground, Prince Charming?" he attempted, as an act of good will.

Prince Charming managed an awkward smile through the silence in the conversation "Ah, yes. It's very nice here." He grimaced at his halting speech, the words had not merely flown to his tongue as usual. He had heard much about the goblin king, especially about how hard it was to talk to the man. Well, he would brave this as others hadn't dared to try. Hopefully. Charming soon found himself fiddling nervously with a strand of hair that had fallen out of his otherwise lovely(as the ladies called it) low pony-tail. He had not one idea of any of the goblin king's interest so he couldn't really start a conversation off of that... and he was pretty sure the man didn't want to hear about his gallant adventures. Was there anything to talk about?

Macy was leaning against a wall, scowling blackly as he held his mask over his face. Making his rare set of eyes more promenant than usual, H was scowling because nearly every female was looking at him and giggling,or pointing or even so much as touching him. He hated to be touched by anyone, much less people he found stupidly annoying.
'be nice...they're women...' he thought to himself angrily, biting back the urge to yell at the women to keep them away from him. When one strode up and yanked on his frontal horn he snapped, and grabbing her hand roughly, squeezed it so she let go.
"just leave me alone! I don't want you touching me and I don't want to dance either! go drape yourself over that Damned Jareth or the stupid pansy human!" he yelled rudely, in anger, at the group surrounding him, they gasped and backed away as he stormed to go stand at another place in the ballroom where he wouldn't be annoyed.

Caspian quirked his eyebrow at the yelling he heared. He had slipped away from the conversation with his rather obnoxious distant relative, deciding that the rediculous hairdo the goblin king insisted upon useing was affecting his mood... it was a worthy excuse he felt, and had had to leave Leovan for the time being, he'd go back he was sure, the young man was quite the delight!
But this shouting, what a racket! And he couldnt help but be slightly amused by it, he liked a scene whe he wasnt the one causing it, and he easilly turned an amused green eye on the one responcible.
He recognised him.. just about.. he thought, maybe they'd met once? Or was it just from a description, he knew so many people it was hard to keep track.
He could understand the.. what was it any way? Well, he could understand its annoyance.. he did seem to be getting the worst kind of attention.. it made conversation with Jareth seem almost bearable!
"No need to a gathering.." he stated, shooing some of the shocked guests away from where they were turning to look on, just as he had..
"Come on now! Pleanty of wine to be had and fine young ladies.." he paused to kiss ones hand,
"To be danced with! Hurry now! Hurry hurry!" he shoo'd them on, before turning to look at the Unigon.
"Feeling better for that?" he asked politely

Macy was decidedly put out that now he had drawn more attention, he was on the edge of kiling something, his mood was that foul. He watched with slight amsuement as the Pirate King approached and managed to get rid of all the attention on himself and turn it another way, he watched as alot of people turned back to dancing or chatting and let a sigh of relief out, letting his demeanor relax.
"yes..I hate people touching my horns..." he murmured gratefully, a tone rarely taken by the usually haunty Unigon. He flicked his gaze to look at Caspian directly, and felt he recognised him somehow. He couldn't quite place it though.

Caspian smiled slightly,
"I noticed that, not to worry though, I get sick and tired of people poking the patch.." He shrugged and tapped the eyepatch he had over one of his eyes.
"And just the general expectation that I should acknowledge kin to Jareth." He shrugged once more before smilng.
"What can you expect from people who attend thse function at the end of the day though? They're all so far up themselves they forget what the rest of the world looks like, I only attend for the humour factor, and because I know it annoys Jareth to see me show my face here every now and then, being the family disgrace is such a fard lot.." he placed a hand to his forehead in mock woe, and chuckled, making it clear it was just a joke.. That done however he lifted the large feathered mask he carried up to his face and peered at Macy through it.
"Might I ask for a name? I find myself recognising you somhow.. and I cant quite place it... I myself, am Caspian Aurelius, the King of the Pirates."

"i'm only here becuase it's required, Jareth makes me attend these things, whether its to try and make me sociable or just to show me off I have no idea..." Macy murmured, smiling slightly at Caspian's joke. He was probably the butt of every joke in the goblin court, what with his behaviour and escape attempts. He acted like a child, this thought along with the one before, surprisingly depressed him slightly, his unicorn ears flattened some.
"i'm Macy Tresquax, of the goblin court and of the southern woodland plains" he said, accepting Caspian's introduction with a nod of his head.

"Are you quite okay?" Caspian asked, struggling to remember if he recalled the name for any other reason than the inane gossip that was foever flying around the court..
Of course he had heared Macy's name there... but... he just couldnt place how he knew his face, as he was sure they had not met here before. It was quite unusual..
"You seem somhow saddened, is there any way I could life your spirits?" Caspian was a good humoured man, he didnt like to see people down so it was only natural that he try to assist Macy here.
"I still cant figure how I recognise you either.." He stated thoughtfully..
"And as for being forced places, Elle encourages me to go along, he seems to think that being here might be good for me in some way? I dont mind, it makes him smile enough.. he's surprisingly sweet for a human."

"i-i'm fine, just feeling a bit out of sorts" Macy answered, not quite sure how his emotions had managed to reach his face. he was usually very good at hiding them from everyone, well everyone but Jareth who somehow could read him like an open book.
"Nishi sent me here, he was worried I was getting lazy...though my punishment is to be kept away from here" he murmured, grabbing a glass of wine off a nearby tray.

"Ah yes.. I heard about that.." He shook his head..
"Jareth is such a stick in the mud, dont worry, he'll get bored soon enough and will probably let you do as you please.. though.. he is stubborn about things from time to time.." Caspian took a sip of the red wine he already had in his hand and seemed thoughtful for a moment,
"I might talk to him at some point, Its been a while since he and I had a good arument, its been alltogether to civil for my tastes recently, we'll see though.." he lowered the mask again, seemingly annoyed by it being on his face.. it was easier to see without it anyway.
"I pity you for your race though.." He stated sombrely..
"Being treated like a precious stone, delicate glass.. ugh.. that just wouldnt fly for me I have to say.. I like being my own person, doing what I wantfar too much.. Thats why I went to the humans, just because people said I shouldnt.. I like it there enough, the one I stay with is pleasent, and very sweet to me and to his Corsea.. he's looked after the Drow very well.." He nodded..
"You must find it rather hard to have any fun though.."

"he's easily angered...I wind him up all the time..." Macy answered a small smirk gracing his features, he looked pointedly at Caspian before looking down at the glass of red wine held in his hands.
"I hate being...what I am..it's annoying..." he answered, his ears flattened back in his obvious distaste.

Caspian smiled
"At least you're original I suppose, and I would be lying if I told you your looks were bad." He shrugged slightly, he had never been one to shy away from commenting on what he thought truely pleasent. And Macy was cirtainly anything but hard on the eyes.
"I think its the other way for me however.." He stated with a smile, his green eye sparkling slightly..
"Most people find what I am annoying.." He paused and lifted a hand, the mask still in it to return the attentinos of a rather attractive young woman.
"Simpering dame's.." he stated though his teeth, the dazzling smile he oftain wore on his lips, th ewords obviously were only intended for Macy.
"The room is full of them.. its a wonder they dont float away with the air that fills they minds..."

"yeah I know i'm pretty....." Macy's vanity shining through as he looked at his reflection in his wine. "...but nothing good comes of it, i'll never be able to find someone as a mate, if Jareth has a say at least"
"the women are idiots, I mean where the hell did they but their brains? or their decency?" he asked, glaring at any woman who past him.

"They Lack both." Caspian stated,
"They come here with little else but the design in scoring a notable husband.. and well.. they seem to believe all men want a woman who is game to show her assets off to anyone who asks.. foolish. Thats what I say.." He paused and looked back to Macy again, lifting a hand to adjustt he large plumed hat he wore on his head.
"Why do you say that? What business is it of Jareth's who you choose to spend your life with?" he shook his head..
"Or has has my Dearest relative added 'cupid' to his name now.." He rolled his eyes slightly at the thought, unable to prevent the slightly amused expression on his face.

"he seems a tad...protective of me" Macy answered, looking at the women in distatse, he missed Caspian's look as he sipped his wien yet again. swirling the liquid around in the glass.
"i dont know...i find such women airheads...perhaps id rather a male or something?" Macy asked in slight disdain, he'd never thought about it much really.
