Deltalord Raistlin even if he was possed by Fistandantalis. He wasn't, he was never controlled, everything he did in his life he did himself.

well put, i really do like all of the original companions the most....i could never really decide who was my favorite but i can tell you that the chronicles is my favorite series thus far

Tas is always god for a laugh, Tanis is good for those who go for the wisdom thing, but come on Raist is totally the greatest character of the entire series.

It's funny how most people's favorite is Raist, but still have a hard time choosing between him and Tas. They're so different!
I am a Tas girl all the way. Tas is my baby. The whole kender race are my children. I adopt Tas as my pet kender. (Every girl needs a pet kender.) *steals - er, borrows - Tas and wanders off*
Of course, second favorite is Raist. I usually like the comic relief or the brooding hero as my favorite character in a story. Raist is really neither, as I suppose he's technically not a hero, he's an antihero, but still, I love him. I always imagined me and Tas mercilessly teasing the red mage, trying to get him out of his seriousness... He's too serious.
And my third favorite is Tanis, because he's HOT! Gotta love those gorgeous elven - half-elven - men!

Raistlin will always be my favourite character. But, as I've said before, it's not because he's "evil", as I believe he's not "evil". I believe he's just extremely ambitious. I love Raistlin because his character is so complex, tragic and real. His was really the only character that was ever fully developed, I feel, and I think that's why he's a lot of people's favourite characters. That, or there are a lot of little "goth" kids who just like him because he's "evil".
My second favourite character would probably be Tika. She's so gritty and raw and humourous. She also reminds me the most of myself, really. Plus I used to RP her, so I've got a little soft spot in my heart for her x3
