I do like the idea of all of the co-captains working together on different sections. Like you said Ross, you would take care of announcements and cleaning up chain letters. I could take care of keeping people active in the guild, and etc.
That's really how it should work. The guild leader shouldn't have to be piled with everything.
Good point Ross.

i mean if we each take a few sections of the guild to maintain, we should beable to keep the place running. then the captain can work on the biggest things. we can report issues to him/her and make sure it all goes according to plan. i think that should take alot of the stresses off one person. we really need to getter organize the crew.

What we need is an active crew.
In some sense that would work. But some subforums are less active then others. I'm already in charge of the Fan-Fiction area... and I hardly find myself going there.
We could try and narrow it down into sections. I was seeing more on then sense of the co-captains all working together in organizing the crew. From then on, we could take word to the captain when a really big decision must be made. So it's more like a tree branch of leader ship.
The idea needs to be refurbished and defined. I think we actually need to work out what the co-leaders and crew should be watching for. Some sections could be put together and watched under one person.

I didn't mean for the members to have a vote on the new captain. Mostly because the captain should be someone who is in the leadership now.
I have no problem with recruiting new crew members and promoting a few people to co-captain status would be a good idea.
There are to peoples names on the leadership lists that really don't even need to be there and others who could probably do a bang up job at crew status.
A perfect example would be Renton159.
If you want to do a poll for members let it be for new crew. And I'm all for a group effort among co-captains.
I'm going to work on a resignation letter for the announcement system. I took the day off today to spend with friends but I'll be back on tomorrow. Wow, I'm such a slacker. xp
Anyway. Thanks for the two cents HaKlowner. Nice avatar by the way. Glad to see your still around.

oh see i figured we'd need to add a new crew member anyways just to help out, cuz with the lose of a great leader, one must add new people to bring in some fresh air. but i figured we should let the members help to pick from the crew candidates that we thought was good for the cpatain... but maybe we should give the voting power for the crew over to everyone, cuz it is their guild too. and we can make the choice who we want to be our boss.
i also like the tree branch idea. it's a well planned out version of what i was trying to say. sweatdrop
i think we should find a fair way of dividing it all up. i know there must be a way of creating a network of jobs and functions for the crew. like one person in charge of the main section. one incharge of the subforums that take heavy use. one keeping on top of annoucements, one dealing witrh the members [banning, unbanning, adding, etc...]. This plan would need all of us crew to talk to one another, alot.
IDK anyone have any ideas?

I think we're finally putting this idea together. I like some of the categories you listed Ross.
I can't really think of any members really to add to the crew.
((I'm going to wait till my hands are no longer numb, brb.))
There we go... I really don't have much else to say. I'm starting a topic for candidates to become new crew members, and which of the crew should be bumped up to Co-Captain.

we really should make a set up for who does what. i'd hate to see this guild push all this work on a new person. so no matter what i want to help out. maybe find a way to split up the work better. it was really a shame that Tolly had to do soo much for this place. we all need to chip in more, take on some more responcibilities, i mean we are the crew, lets assign jobs.
that's all my point is, i think... sweatdrop
