Lumiere Vulpine Eol the Dark Elf Quadadiddle The Mythical Master Sword. Sorry, I'm a zelda buff. razz Hahaha, Master Sword... xd In OoT, Giant's Knife > Master Sword. So says I. 1. The Goron's Sword pwns all. Even Dark Link, (Or whatever that shadow thing is in the water temple) hard to kill him without it. 2. Stay on topic. blaugh Sorry redface I couldn't help it. Well, let-a-me-see, how about Surt's flaming brand? I'm sure it has a name, but I do not know it. I think Surt's sword is at least worth mention here, it having burnt the nine worlds and all.

He has a flaming brand that is ultimately responsible for most of the damage done at Ragnarok (and it's thanks to his brand that even those who do not fight in Ragnarok will still be killed... well, except for two people but I digress)

I dunno if Muspell is connected or not but since Muspelheim is the fire hell from Norse mythology of sorts, then I'm guessing they are?

"Muspelheim," in fact, literally means "Realm of Muspell;" just as "Helheim" means "Realm of Hel;" "Alfheim" means "Realm of the Elves;" "Jotunheim" realm of the Giants, and so on. Muspell (or Muspel, the two 'l' version is a somewhat archaic Old Norse form of the name) is a fire giant who lives in (and presumably rules over) Muspelheim. I used the kenning "Son of Muspell" for Surt because that is what he and the other fire giants were called in Snorri's Edda. True, Snorri's writings are not without their flaws, but they're where most of our information on the Norse myths come from (and they're certainly the most popular source)...

Wow. Do you know Norwegian Eol?Actually, Old Norse (what the "vikings" spoke) is bascially identical to modern-day Icelandic. In the "Viking Age," they spoke the same language in Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway as well. Today, however, the Scandinavian languages are quite different from Icelandic (makes sense if you think about it geographically). But, to asnwer the question: I do speak Danish and a smattering of Icelandic. So, I suppose that I indirectly have an OK grasp of Norwegian; Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian are close enough that you can have mutual understanding between them. But I find that Swedish, in particular, is much easier for me to hear than to read... it sounds kinda-sorta like Danish but looks very different in writing. Knowing Icelandic is very handy for reading the Norse myths, because that's what they're all written in. I envy Icelandic people for their not having to go out of their way to learn Old Norse smile
