mewcou Darien II Donnie Darko did not impress me much either. Although Emwah would say NOTHING does (movie wise).
but to prove her wrong I say! I SAY! that The Butterfly Effect (or similar genre to DD [not the breasts, but alas the movie.]) was fairly enjoyable and engaging. I also enjoyed the fact that it showed Ashton Cutcher could play a character other than a d**k for brains. I agree in an ambiguous sort of way. I enjoyed Donnie Darko, but I don't go orgasmic over simple philosophical ideas and social comments that are so ******** obvious that it loses its realism. It lost point for trying to seem deeper than it was. Funny thing is, so many people fall for it. I entireley agree (ambiguously). The movie wasn't that good and I was really uncomfordable while watching it as I was cramped between a bed and a wall. Then everyone's all like "Jake Gillenhall is so hot I want to sex him in the bum" and I'm like "shuddup, the only good things about that movie was the girl who said chuttup, the bunny's suit and: "what are faeces?" "baby mice" The movie poohed. Oh look Darien, I agree with YOU. And I know you don't hate everything.Anulman? DD dealt with the obvious theme of time-travel. This was the first thing TBE stole. And Donnie Darko obviously stole this theme from one of the most profound movies of our time "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", the makers of whom, in turn, stole this concept of time travel from the equally as impressive "Back To The Future" series. Anulman? Donnie goes back to save Gretchen's live in exchange for his own. EXACTLY LIKE THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT. Exactly like "The Lion King" more like it. You remember how Mufasa gave his own life so his son could live on? Well he did. Anulman? And finally how did these two plagerists manage to not get sued like a mutha ********? 3 words: "THE CHAOS THEORY." All they did was base a DD rip-off around the theme that a tiny ripple could cause tidal waves. (Metaphorically.) This was of course an engaging idea but was also a nice little cover up by the directors so that the critics wouldn't dub it: "A Donnie Darko re-make." but instead: "A great theory to base a movie on." Remember the movie "Chaos Therory"? My point proven. (That being that it's is pretty damn hard to make a movie with totally original themes.)

Once again I have made a mistake in my tired dickheadedness. I didn't mean to imply that anyone who like DD is stupid. Thats not what I meant to say. I realise now that I sounded like an elitist ******** (yet again, hey, at least im good at it) and I'm sorry for offending people...

He only got away with it cause he's Mad Max and we all know that the only person that could stand up to him is Superman... alas he is no more, unless you count the TV versions, but you can't. Today I guess the only person that stands a chance is The Rock.. but he changed his name to his REAL name.. which is like Dwayne or Dwight or something and that ain't hard core. In which case Mel = undefeatable.

Went and saw "Exorcist : The Beginning" which as I had guessed was a remake of a previous film that involved Father M's first exorcism encounter, or maybe that little ordeal was stricken from the timeline.
Typical Exorcist fan fare, there are lots of scary moments, aim wouldn't stop with the jumping, the effects were too constant and obvious (******** awesome blood spray, I don't see why particle effects aren't used for blood more often)
BUT
It wasn't all bad, there were a few shining moments that will stay in my mind until I finish writing this small review like the "rotten c**k in juicy arse" scene that was tacked on, and the "head death" scene with reference to said blood particles.
See this if you're bored and have some spare cash, OR if you like your horror movies to be CGI whores who still deliver a rather flashingly scary bang for your (ex) 13 bucks.

mewcou I want to see it, but only because of my Christian-theology/horror fetishes. You'll probably like it then, even though there wasn't that much in the christian area, just the obvious stuff.
