I think i'd have to agree with mofoslotmachine somne yuri couplings are good and some het are good. For example CCS I like the idea of Sakura/Tomoyo but Syaraon/Sakura is just as cute and it works, it's the same with games like final fantasy VII and IX where the het couplings are ok but I also liek the idea of Tifa/Aerith and one of my favourite couplings Beatrix/Dagger (Sarah, Garnet gah she has many names).

Ah, canon versus almost...
As a fanboy, been coming down with a lot of "almost" pairings. Like in Azumanga Daioh, the whole Sakaki/Kagura, Tomo/Yomi, and Nyama/Yukari... *sigh* Love these pairings, but sadly since it's a teen aged anime, not too much girl/girl action being thrown in. Except maybe when Nyama got wasted and started saying perverted things that were blocked out by both censors and just to be funnny.

Guess the canon stuff is more loved because then they get to see it unravel in the anime itself, like you said before the Chikane and Himeko love was in the KNM series, so they often prefered it to the Himeko/Orange haired girl in the beginning of the anime that I can't remember sadly enough.

I, myself, like the almost pairings, because it leaves room for improvisation in fanfics, and gives a lot of fanart possibilities. Also shows the dedication of the fandom, because even though they know that it probably won't happen in the series, they still push for it in their own belief that the two are just right for each other.


That, and I like the PPGZ anime and like Buttercup/Bubbles... What? What?! They're not related....

I would say it depends on the pairing

I tend to like both canon and almost pairings.

One of my favorite pairings is Yoruichi/Soi Fong. They couldn't get much more obvious without tying a rainbow ribbon around them and putting up a big neon sign. Soi Fong is so in love with Yoruichi. They are very sweet.

Utena and Anthy are pretty good. I haven't seen all of that, but they had a decent ending in the movie. I'd like to see how they got along in the real world smile

From Kashimashi, I hated Yasuna evil I was so happy when Hazumu didn't end up with her! Thank goodness! I would have been very sad if she had.

I've been preading Broken Angels and I really like Sunao and Kureha. Unfortunately, I have a sinking feeling that it's going to end up going het on me. crying Stay with Kureha Sunao! Stay with her!

If you ever read Day of Revolution, I like Makoto and Megumi. The cut cartoons on the cover of the book make it seem like they got together! But if you read Princess Princess, Megumi ends up going out with Megumi's brother. Another sad twist of het crying Makoto/Megumi is sooooooo much better!

NanaxHachi from NANA is my all time favorite Almost couple. They're best friends and they do love eachother in the lover-ly way but neither of them act on it

I've always liked Yoruichi/Soi Fon and Tsunade/Shizune and Ino/Saku.

They're kinda almost canon like.

I like a pairing only if it makes sense in some sort of way.

I'm like canon couples but usually I go for 'almost couples' it really doesn't matter to me if the couple seems nice to be together.
