Emmeral Heh, I've never named my flute, but everytime my flute gets hit by something... I start to feel REALLY bad for it... as if I stepped on a cats tail... crying That is what I do, when I dropped my marching flute off of the side of the bleachers once I felt really bad, I felt like I had to buy it flowers or write an apology or something (I acknowledge that I am strange...)

Well, I had my beginning flute to see if I was going to stick with the flute (which I am) I named that one Mini but I let someone borrow it for a year. I got it back with the inside of the head joint rusting and 5 pads torn. Also a weak spring. So I had to trash it. On December 24, 2005 I got a new Selmer Prelude flute. I named that one Amora and I still have it now. But I have my eyes set on a new, better flute. (hopefully open hole with a longer foot joint than the regular flutes)

I got one of those. they are really good. it also depends on what brand you get.

I remember in high school, all of my friends would name their instruments. I never could think of a good one for my flute, but I still love it just the same. I get VERY protective of it. I actually let a girl borrow my student model for marching band until she could ge a picc. Two months into the season and she still didn't have a picc, so now she has to march with her nice Gemeinhardt. I got sick of mijssing it. xp

I do name my instruments, and so does my brother. He named his Renard Bassoon Bernard. I named my crappy flute Dolores, and I'm thinking of naming my good one Jane.
