I dont think I ever see him stop eating!

The labels, goth, emo and punk get mixed up, rather annoying.

Yes. Speaking of chavs though, I just got back from the beach with everyone. There were these three year nine kiddies who decided to come over and punch our mate and sit on his bike. He walked past me and Emma and said 'not too gay then', to which I replied 'no, not really,'

After a few more exchanges his phone rang. 'Yeah like, there's this f***ing wh*re here like, being f***ing cheeky as s*** like mate.' Like? He said like! Several times! I thought it was hilarious. And such beautiful language.

Thankfully it was dark, so they won't recognise us in daylight.

I nearly got my self beaten up with the Chavs in Weston. I was buying my lunch before I went to photography and was talking to Gina about the size of the ear-rings people wear, with out realising a chav could hear me and next thing i know, i can hear her outside the shop going "'i'm going to beat up the ginger kid."

So you also get label for your hair colour not just dress sense.

I don't see why being ginger's a bad thing. I used to be really jealous of my lil brother and sister, cause they had red hair and I didn't. I even tried multiple times to die it but it just went darker brown.

I do find it funny though when chavs threaten to beat people up, and never seem to get around to it. And most of the lil chavlings who do are about half our size! It's hilarious! You can actually just stand, point and laugh at them. It's great! I reckon if they tried you'd actually be able to hold them by the forehead and they wouldn't be able to reach you. Lol!

I find the labels me and mine get to be just funny. Then again that's prolly why I find Scenesters to be funny, ya'll should pick up this comic.

I'm guessing Scenesters is the comic? What's it about?

And yeah, the lables our group get are pretty funny too. And a lot of the time true, even if the people don't know what they're saying. for example - Cam=Emo. Lol! Love ya Cambo!

I'm actually quite disapointed. I don't fit into a group. I've been called everything in the book, but none of them fit me. I want a label. At the moment I'm just saying Indie or whatever. I like the music at least.

lil_rocker_cam
so what does everyone think about lables?? Punk, emo, goth ect?

Here's my thoughts about...
Punk: If you are a punk, then you probably hate labels. So by calling yourself a punk, you are really calling yourself a hypocrite.

Emo: "Oh no, I'm an upper middle class suburban white kid who is miserable because nobody loves me... so now I'm going to cut my hair so my bangs can wipe up my tears (but only one eye), wear all black to show how bleak and depressing my life is, write really horrible poetry about suicide, cut myself in random easy to see places, and listen to music that just accentuates all of my teenage angst."

Goth-which originally is called Gothic: Its a style of architecture complete with stained glass windows, flying buttresses, pointed arches, etc. It has absolutely nothing to do with wearing black, putting on make-up to make yourself look dead, or thinking Robert Smith or Trent Reznor are gods among the living. stare

Punks call themselves punks all the time.
House Punks are the ones who won't call themselves punks.

Yeah, but so many of the Punks who call themselves punks hate labels... so technically by calling oneself punk one is also calling oneself a hypocrite. But hey... everybody is a hypocrite, so what's the worry?

Labels are stupid but they are a part of life. Everyone labels and there's no getting around it. I try hard not to use them and I don't use them negatively. But I don't like them and I just accept people the way they are. 3nodding

I'm too lazy to bother reading all of the posts on the second page about labels, so I'm sure I'm not going to be really adding on to anything or even saying something someone already hasn't said, but I don't really care.

It really does depend. I mean, stereotyping sort of labels have pros and cons. So does everything else.

A good thing about stereotypical labels is that usually, depending on the stereotype, there is a certain common belief or point of view in which most people in the stereotype share. You can relate to a lot of people in it, or share the same tastes in something.

One of the bad things about it is when people start deciding who they will and will not hang out with just by looking at them and picking out what their stereotype may be. I can understand, but that's only if it's someone who can be considered emo or some really annoying "stereotype". When they constantly complain about how bad their life is while they're sitting at the lunch table after finishing their discussion about the mansion their parents are getting, yeah, I wouldn't hang out with them either.
Then again, that's a personality. At least in some way it is.

I don't know, I don't really pay attention. If I'm going to use a stereotype, then I'm going to. If not, then I'm not.

Life goes on.
