I don't exactly hate him, but he isn't my favorite character. Really, I feel sorry for him for having to deal with Christine, but I'm glad he has to deal with her, not the Phantom.
Bottom line: Raoul deserves to endure the torture that is called Christine. And he is a fop!

I don't hate Raoul. He wasn't really a threat, because what would you do if the one you loved was taken by a psychotic murderer? He was doing the right thing.
I guess people hate him because he supposedly took Christine away from Erik, but Erik is too unstable for Christine. No matter how much I want an E/C relationship to work out, Raoul is the better match for Christine.

I love Raoul! Does that make me an outcast from society? It always seems that Raoul is hated. A lot. sweatdrop I like Raoul and Erik, but I don't like Christine(despite the fact that my avatar almost is Christine). Especially in the 2004 movie. She's not too bad in the book or the show. mrgreen

Christine_deChagny I love Raoul! Does that make me an outcast from society? It always seems that Raoul is hated. I don't really understand Raoul-bashers. I mean, he's not that bad. And he did deserve Christine in a way, it's just that Erik needed her more.
Ya Totally agree Erik did need her more,But I really dont like raoul.

If any of you have read the book you'll realize that Raoul is a total idiot. I hate Raoul with a passion!!! If it weren't for the Persian Raoul would of died trying to find Christine in the Phantoms underground home. I hate how they make Raoul seem more intelligent than he really is in the movies and in the play. Because he really is just a complete moron. He could never actually take the Phantom in a fight he'd die a horrible death. If they ever gave Raoul his real metal compacity he would of been dead once Erik got ahold of him. Anyone who agrees with me we should ban together and try and get the real version straight from the book made into a movie. We should have an angry mob too just for fun. I'll make signs... xp

I loved Roaul. But I think that is because I thought Erik was obsessed and possesive. Then again that is my own point of view.

Lady_Raymonde If any of you have read the book you'll realize that Raoul is a total idiot. I hate Raoul with a passion!!! If it weren't for the Persian Raoul would of died trying to find Christine in the Phantoms underground home. I hate how they make Raoul seem more intelligent than he really is in the movies and in the play. Because he really is just a complete moron. He could never actually take the Phantom in a fight he'd die a horrible death. If they ever gave Raoul his real metal compacity he would of been dead once Erik got ahold of him. ROCK ON! I hate raoul too , just didnt want to offend all u lovers of Raoul, but hes an idiot! I mean in the movie version, when someone tells you keep ur hand at the level of your eyes, dont you think you would be what the hell why, and just do it??

Norofel For Christine, yes. He was perfect for Christine, in a way. Phantom should have had someone better than that psychotic teen who couldn't make up her mind. ;P
Raoul and Christine were both shallow, immature, indecisive and petulant. They make a perfect couple.
Oh! And in the book, Raoul was a much better character. He was more heroic and brave in the book.. They really were shallow, immature, and all the rest, weren't they? And Phantom deserves someone smart, decisive, and musically inclined - like me! But I don't really like the Raoul in the book. I think he's the bravest in the musical (which isn't saying much - he's still a wimpy fop).
