Because a philosophy thread completely belongs in the miso soup subforum. Feel free to bring up any philsophy question/debate you want, and if I find it interesting, I'll post it up as the "Philosophy Question/Debate of the Moment."

Philosophy Question/Debate of the Moment:

Why is the materialistic object wanted most in life for any given reason the most expensive to purchase?

My answer:

Because Best Buy obviously wants to keep me from getting my DJ Studio Headphones. A $30 giftcard is not enough! emo

Your answer?
If you bring up a good point/argument, I'll post your answer up here.

Because:

1.) We tend to like things that are in high demand, so by law of supply and demand, those items are expensive.
2.) Because everything we like is cool, and so cool things cost a lot.

@poll. Mmmmmmm nerrds. : ) : ) : )) : )) : )) : )) : ))

Items that we want are naturaly more expensive. take it from the producer's veiw. Say that i can make 2k in 6hours. If i can buy an item for 2k and there is a high enough demand for it i can then sell it for 3k, thats like taking 3hours of work in a few seconds, or rather a good investment.

Actually, a good investment with 2k would be to sell an item for 4k. For example, I bought my sealeds when they were at their lowest: 14.5k-15k. Now, due to the new announcement, they've shot back up to 17k-18k.

By the way, updated first post.

Philosophy Question/Debate of the Moment:

Trust gives us the incentive to betray.

My answer:

Because a person can not betray another until there is trust involved.

Chu. I agree. To betray is to violate trust - you can't betray unless there is even any trust involved. If two people do not trust each other and one commits a lewd (Why the hell did I just type "lewd"?!) *ahem*, I mean, unfavorable action against the other, there is no betrayal because the other person never trusted the person to not do something bad to them in the first place.
