"Think nothing of it. New Germany is very far away from here, though I am surprised you have NEVER heard of it. Many days on horseback, many weeks on foot. Well Ms. Sharpe, what is it about me that interests you?" He smiled at Mari, trying to put on his most polite face. In all honesty, he was waiting until his "friend" showed up with the information, but this girl seemed to be searching as well. When the door swung open, Joseph saw no one. When the waitress fell down, he stood to make sure she was alright. And when Eien jumped in from the door and up to the rafters, Joseph just looked confused. He shook his head and sat back down. "I'm sorry, please continue," he said as he smiled again.

Eien pulled her ebony-colored claws out of the rafter; thus her upper body swung down while her feet were still gripping the rough wood. "New Germany, eh?" Eien questioned in her innocent voice, swinging slightly. "I've never heard of that place...." She paused and looked downward, which was infact, upward to her. "Yes, please go on Sharpe-san!" Eien exclaimed, gazing at the two people with her unnaturaly deep, sharp red eyes. "I just love meeting new people, making new friends!" She swung some more, her pink hair sweeping over the desk lightly.

When the weird girl swung down, it surprised Shio, causing her to step back, but she tripped over the short girl who was talking about Germany.

"Gah! I'm sorry!"

She stood up and started to bow repeatedly at her.

A strange look came across Joseph's face. Now he was annoyed, but not these people, but for having to come out into the middle of a land that did not even know of his glorious homeland."I must have traveled a lot farther than I thought. Everyone, gather around and I will explain." Everyone took a seat around Joseph' table, interested in what he had to say. Everyone except for Eien, who oppted to stay hanging. Joseph looked at her with a surprised look, but shrugged his shoulders and made himself comfortable. "As some of you may have heard, I am Joseph Kreigwolf, knight of New Germany. Many many years ago, before the great Dragon War, New Germany was one of the greatest cities in exsistence. Now, it stands as a glorious monument to the war. I left to find my sister. She left a few weeks ago because something very strange happened. But I don't know exactly what. All I know is she said something about Dragons." The word dragons struck a cord in Mari's mind.

"Eh?! Dragons? They're real? And New Germany? I've never heard of that place!"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 01, 2006 8:03 pm

Eien stopped swinging and turned to Shio. "I've never heard of New Germany either, yet, I've never traveled this far north. I always lived in the heaths down south on the coast of the large salt oceans!" She exclaimed, clasping her hands together. The ebony nails clicked together, a hollow ring sounded. "Ah...." Eien closed her eyes for a few moments. She looked like a neon bat. A very large bat, that is.....
"Oh yes, New Germany sounds interesting! Dragons, you say!" Eien said in her perky, innocent voice. "Oh, I remember the old travelers that used to settle down along the coast..... I used to sit on the warm sands with the men, listening to their stories.... I've heard of temples with long, thin dragons with four or five tallons on each er...hand?..." She paused. "Anyways, I've heard of dragons that were the color of the river, the moss-colored stones that lie on the bottom, and the color of a raging fire.... Oh, how I wish I could see a dragon! Have I said that I've always felt so cold whenever I hear tales about an ancient Dragon? Oh, it's probably the thrill surging through my veins!!" She swung, then dug her nails into the wood slightly. She crawled between the rafter and the roof then gazed down at the desk. It was amazing, considering there was only about two feet between the roof and rafter.

Mari was kind of amazed in what had happened in such a short time. A young lady called Shio had tripped over her and started bowing, which Mari returned with an understanding smile. And then Joseph had explained what New Germany was like. Not only that, but the odd girl with pink hair seemed to know a lot more about dragons than Mari did. "Dragons?" asked Mari quietly. "How much do you guys know about them? It's kind of nessecary that I know. It's about my brother, he-"
It was hard to say. Clayne had left suddenly too. Mari remembered his words perfectly: "Marisa, don't tell father but I've just discovered something. Something big. I know why all these strange things have been happening, it's the about the dragons. Marisa, I'll be back soon."

"I need to know where he's gone." she said finally.

Joseph rolled his eyes. How could it be that none of these people knew where New Germany was. And now he had a girl asking about a brother he knew little about. Joseph turned to Shio and laughed. "Yes, at one time, Dragons did roam the earth. They were proud and honorable beings, but mankind in our fear and ignorance, chased them off to who knows where." He nexted turned to Eien, and laughed out loud. "You are quite the lively one. I have never seen a dragon myself, but my grandfather was good friends with a Dragon named Armaloke. He told me Armaloke was as brown as Bronze and and had a voice that sounded like it could move the earth." He then looked at Mari with a much more serious face and asked, "About your brother, why do you need to know so badly?" Then it struck Joseph. Her brother was going through the same problems as his sister. But to be sure, he needed her to say it. His voice turned low and very serious, "Is your brother going through certain changes? Like new power or knowledge? Because that is exactly what is happening to my sister!" At last, maybe a real clue.

Mari was both surprised and pleased. It seemed as if Joseph knew what she was talking about! And that it had happened to his own sister too. Was this a coincedence?

"Yes." said Mari vigorously. "He became very knowledgeable and tons more powerful. It surprised everyone and when he thought father was suspicious he left suddenly with barely any provisions." Mari paused for a second, choosing her words carefully. "What happened to your sister?"

"She started with strange dreams. Then, it was like she knew the answer just about anything you could ask her. She could quote just about any book in the library, or even find the quote in a matter of seconds. When she left, something was wrong. She was wearing a cloak around her body, but I saw a stream of white feathers underneath, which leads me to believe that she was growing or still is growning wings. When she left, I tried to stop her, but she knocked me aside and left me wounded for two days. Up til that moment, she has not been able to even begin to stomach fighting. I am searching for her now. Maybe it would be in our best intrests to join forces." He smiled at the other two listeners and said, "And you two are welcome as well. We may get to meet real dragons."

"Wings?" questioned Mari. "That's strange... My brother seemed fine when I saw him leave." Mari continued on swiftly not wanting to get on the subject of her brother. "You've been looking for your sister too, huh? When you saw her, she seemed a little violent didn't she? It was the same for me... He suddenly became snappy all the time and he didn't even boast about all the skills he had. Perhaps ... The dragons have a big part in this. In which case... It might actually be a good idea to work together." she admitted.

Mari did like the idea of having company but her worry was with being discovered. She had forgotten until now she had pratically ran away from home. She wondered if Joseph was in a situation like this too but discounted seconds later. He was very mature. Mari just hoped no one found out anytime soon.

"I agree. These events must be related to the dragons. Not to seem rude, but I have a question. Do your parents know you are here? You seem a little young to travel by yourself." Years of service had taught hi to read the movements and behaviors of his enemies, and this situation was no different. Her breathing was shallow and spuradic, like she was hiding something and she rarely looke anyone in the eyes.

Mari knew she was going pale but she didn't know how to stop. She gave Joseph a slightly worried look. But she tried to smile all the same. "Of course they do. My parents trust me to look after myself." She continued, losing her fake smile and getting more agitated with each word. "I am not a child! My parents know that."

"Hahahaha" Jospeh laughed out. "Just as I thought, you ran away, didn't you? It is ok, I am neither your mother nor your father. It isn't my place to tell you what to do. But be sure to send them word often because mothers need that from their children." Joseph smiled again, this time with soft eyes that neither condemed nor cast judgement. "Life can be hard without good friends. Believe me, I know. Now, it is late and I am tired from so much traveling. How about we get some rooms and rest for the night?"

Shiori was listening intently to their conversation, storing the info for later use, but when Joseph mentioned rooms, she started to fidget.

"Eh heh...about that...if it's okay with you, I'll camp somewhere near here."

Shiori laughed nervously and walked to the exit.
