Sloth seemed to look at him for a moment before turning her head away some. "I went hungry. They had their carrying devices, and their noise makers, like any other day. When they came back, they fed me. They always did. It was their rutine. Not too long after my two legers came back...more came. I didn't reconize them. They killed the elder and his fawn. I ran, out of fear they'de take me, like they did the other lera there." She stoped, not wnting to remember. She laid her head down on the ground with a sigh.

Though the male was now uncapable to feel compassion in any sense of the word and could not empathize with the doe, he did get a pained look on his rotted skull at the story. He did not press her further, and only looked away as well. He did not know id she knew his story of fall, and was not going to remind her if she didn't. If she was to ask, he would answer, but to bring on pain to himself such as that was ridiculous. A long cry sounded in his ear drum, and a twitchy neck turned towards it. Nothing came. Nothing ever came. Yet that sound, that awful, bone chilling howl, was always there. No matter what happened, it was always there. With the ever present paranoia in his eye sockets, he looked back at Sloth and gave her the time she needed before going on in conversation.

"My mistake...was going back. I went back, hoping someone would come, anyone. It never happened, and I fell into dispair there." Sloth sighed and closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again.

"However I don't think I would've survived very well if I had kept running." Sloth seemed to be very calm. She ignored his twitchy movement, knowing what it meant, and knowin nothing would come. "So I am doomed to be lazy. Not fend for myself or bring myself food..."

At the mention of running, the male faltered for a moment, unable to even give the doe so much as a glance. He twitched some, avoiding her gaze, trying to fight what he should say. "Running... was my only hope... for survival." If he had for once stopped to go back, he would've been slaughtered sooner than he was. Going back was like going into the dogs' den. It would've been total suicide. However.. deep inside, he knew darn well he should've never left in the first place. His abandonment of the herd was his sin, and his cowardice his fault.

"Well, you dind't survive, did you now?" She said looking abit stern. "A pack of wolves could over take any deer, if you had stayed with your heard, they might've stand a chance. You've got sharp tools on your head for the use in battle. Saftey in numbers, always."

The stag shot a nasty glare at the doe, but had an underlay of hurt in it all. He had deserted the herd for a reason, had he not?! If he had stayed, he surely would've been mauled all the sooner! There had been at least a chance of survival in flight. Fighting an entire back was against natural reactions, and his post was far from the others.

Knarl frantically tried to justify the act to himself as he did almsot everyday, throwing exscuse about in his mind that didn't make complete sense. "I would've died only sooner if I had stayed." His voice was quite bitter now, and far lower than it had been previousley.

"It would've made the diffrence between a pirdeful death adn a cowardly one." She said with a snort. "It's the reason your plagued, I know you know it too. If you had stayed, maybe you'd be in a better position." Sloth snorted and looked away from him. "However I can't say you're the worst of us here."

The stag shot an icey glare at the doe, and quickly looked away, off in the direction of that blasted howling that never ever slept. He snorted at her comment, and couldn't help but add his home. "At least I am not of the blood lust type like our dearly loved Wrath." His voice oozed with sarcasm and venom, his stature stiff as a dead man. "And at least I am not so greedy as to carry about two hinds on rope and leash in life and in death." He glared towards the sun at the thought of greed, but did not feel envy. The hinds were nothing but status now, and status was hardley anything after life. Greed would never breed the pair, for none of the Fallen could. They were there to make others envious, like that little calf cursed with a twisted antler, and no such thing worked on the bitter Knarl.

"Exactly. Atleast you're not Greed, or Wrath, or Lust." She said with a nod. Sloth watched him as he kept looking away in a skittish manner. The doe blink and shook her head.

"Knarl, they aren't there. I don't hear a thing, stop looking over your shoulder." Sloth said her ears flattening in annoyance.

No matter what the doe said on the topic of wolves, Knarl would for ever believe that the long dead pack was still after him. In truth, their souls had not been punished when they passed on, and they were quite happily living, or rather, should we say dying, in a land that the Fallen would never be able to call home. Their howls were not of the sickening cruelty that the stag heard on the wind. Much rather, they were happy calls to one another in the after life. They had a joyous exsitance, one that the rotted creature sitting on the rocks would never come to understand. What his logical mind occasionally wrapped around was that the pack must've died soon after he, for it is the natural way of things. It was porbable that their lines passed away, and that they were all slaughtered, young and old, by the skittish men that were going off to war. Trying to turn his mind on something else, he commented on Lust. "Yes, Lust. She's quite the enchanting one, isn't she? Trying to lure more stags to join us in this damned land." He spat at that, not entirely sure why she wanted more to come. Knarl himself loathed the idea of more Fallen to deal with. Why should any deer wish to have more bitter creatures to spit at them?

"I don't know why we need more stags. The urge to fight during anloch is still with in you, it'll not be something I'd wish to see." She said with a snort. "I guess I just don't understand anloch too well. Since I don't think I've seen one, but I hear of it." Sloth liad her head down, and turned her body so she laid on her side.

"Fighting to have lots' of hinds traveling around you hoping to have the next starbuck as their babe, or something." The doe sighed, and looked at him. "Why can't a stag only have one? The one who raised me only had one. She only seemed to visit them, but they seemed happy enough."

"Anlach in death is far worse than Anlach in life, I admit." The stag shot a bitter glare at the stones, as if it were all their fault. "We are all too angry to stop when we should, and nothing comes of it." With a sideways glance at the doe, he fought to add on. "And to have a large harem is honorable." He didn't actualle expect Sloth to understand such things, as she was female and could never understand how the male mind ticked. He tried, however, to be as clear as possible with his previous statement, and he thought he got it good enough that even she could grasp the concept. Maybe.

Sloth gave him a look that was between confusion and anger. "Honorable? To have tons of hinds to follow you where ever you want? The other hinds don't feel like their just somethign to be counted? I don't understand that, but whatever works for you guys." She snorted and flitted her ears. "I'm glad I have Gluttony with me." The doe muttered.

It was that final nitch that pushed Knarl into annoyance, as he so often was, and caused him to stand up. "Well, then, Sloth. I'll be seeing you around, I guess. Since we aren't going anywhere." He muttered about something incoherently, and then promptly turned around and left without saying goodby. He felt no need to use manners, as he had felt no need to use them since his death. It was just something that came hand in hand with the bitter coldness he had gotten sucked into, and it was something he figured the doe would end up understanding either way. With a freaked twitch, he ran off over the crags and outcrops in his never ending terror of the wolves. The one thing he had to him was his speed, which he used to practically fly over the Fallen terrain from an unseen, unreal terror.
