Death/Doom. I also like funeral doom, but there are more bands in the death/doom sub genre that I actually listen to. It doesn't get better than bands like Daylight Dies, Swallow the Sun and Forest of Shadows. My all time favourite is October Tide.

My main focus has always been on Post-Rock/Sludge Metal, but I don't really see that as a true Doom Metal genre or a complete Metal style in all cases so I'll leave that stuff aside.
My favorites in order of appreciation are: Death/Doom, Stoner, Sludge (whatever kind), Funeral Doom, Drone, and other random hybrids (Doom/Folk, Black/Doom, etc). Though sometimes I might appreciate the hybrids a bit more.

I know it's there, I just don't think it's possible for me to experience it. Epic Doom and Trad./Stoner are possible for me to enjoy, but I just can't find anything in the original deal.
