I bet in 100% of abortions if the child could be consulted it would demand a life. People have an amazing fighting spirit. Human beings have fought the odds again and again only to survive and pioneer all of the Earth and even into the extended universe. People have risen above the worst of situations into happiness and sucess. I bet the child would like this opportunity, too.

I think that would depend on whether or not "emo" is a gene.

Someday that mystery will be solved.

There should be a disclaimer under that particular signature that reads "Unless said woman / child happens to be curently located in a womb"

andyz cool

It's definitely true. In my class, we watched an ultrasound of an abortion. The fetus tried desperately to swim away and when it finally got "caught" it had it's mouth open like it wanted to scream for life.

It's sad, it really is.

We watched videos in my Anatomy Class about abortion. It was saddening. The video included each different method of abortion. They were all horrible and brutal.

And I am in total agreeance with what you both have said.

I'm not even all that religious and I still think having an abortion is wrong.

The Silent Scream. There is no real evidence brought agianst it, but the validity of the video is in serious question. Still though, there is evidence to suggest that at 8 weeks, some times as early as 7, the unbron can feel pain.

One does not have to be riligious to disagree with abortion. Many are pro-life becuae they feel this is th eonly life we have an that it is a crime agianst all of humanity to deny any one the experiences (be they good or bad) that life affords. Other feel that every living being has a right to exist.

Indeed. I was just stating that I'm not even too religious and I even think it's wrong. And yes, those are some of the reasons. [The two that you mentioned.]

aha, the old "it could have a bad life" thing... a "bad" life is better than none at all

Akshamala
An unwanted child will automatically have a miserable life no matter what. So they think they're doing the kid a favor by killing them, I suppose.

It baffles me that they chould ever call themselves pro-child as well as pro-woman. Abortion is plain degrading to the mother and child.

I've heard reasons such as not having enough money, enough time, or enough maturity also cited. To bring a child into poverty, where they aren't given as much time as they need/want, and/or where the mother/father is completely unready for a child . . . . well, it doesn't seem very good for the child. I suppose that could be their way of thinking.

However, death being better than those problems? I don't know. I suppose that they don't feel it is 'killing' anyway.

How is abortion degrading to the woman?
PostPosted: Tue Dec 12, 2006 5:47 pm

Because the mentality we're given is that women NEED abortion to be as good as men.

Without abortion, women have no way to get out of pregnancy and fall behind in the workplace, which means reduced pay. They can lose scholarships for being pregnant. They've been fired for being pregnant. It's driven people to think that a woman's uterus is a weakness, instead of focusing on what it really is...a strength. Women who don't have abortions are "selfish" and "don't deserve help. They brought it on themselves."

Many feminists cling to the idea that abortion allows us to be equal to men and it drives me crazy. Abortion does NOT allow us to be equal to men; in fact, saying we need abortions to do what men do puts women below men by making them rely on a medical procedure. It takes responsibility of conception away from males and puts it soley on women so that we now bear the burden of sex more greatly than before. A world where the most appealling choice we can offer women is to have them pay for the deaths of their children isn't anything but degrading. A world which refuses to put women's needs first and instead says, "this is easiest for me, so do it," is degrading to women. It's starting to improve, but not quickly enough. Turning women against their offspring should be a crime. The people who say, you can't do this without having an abortion, no matter how well-intentioned, are underestimating the strength that all women naturally possess by necessity.

I don't think I'd be quite so pro-life if I was a man. I wouldn't feel insulted every time someone told me that women NEED abortion for anything other than a life or death situation. I wouldn't be so angry that people turn their efforts and funds into killing humans rather than solutions where both women and their offspring could live happily and with a higher quality of life. It wouldn't make me as mad that child predators smuggle kids to abortion clinics every day to get rid of their mistakes. It wouldn't make me so furious when guys tell me they're pro-choice not because they respect a woman's body but because they don't want to be fathers.

I really cant explain cept they must think that there doing the right thing by killing the child from the start.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 12, 2006 9:15 pm

I agree. That's ridiculous. I guess you can sort of say that abortion is not actually murder (which is totally is) but I really don't understand how killing a child is good for them. o.O;;

That's like saying the death penalty is fun for the prisoners. It's an absurd notion to entertain.

It was once believed that heretics and other sinners needed to be killed painfully, as their suffering was essential to their redemption, and being burned at the stake was better than suffering through purgatory.

They, like pro-choicers, knew for a fact what was best for everyone.

Wow. That's horrible. G-d should be doing the judgement, not us. It isn't our place. o.O;;;

Agreed.
