I use music to help me focus all the time. Music is more magickal than we can ever imagine. I listen to certain cd's when i am meditating, and when im doing rituals. Yeah, music is extreemly necessary for me.

Or you're more in tune with the ways of medicine than our healer was.

Delraun I don't use music in rituals because I don't use rituals. But music does act as a good foci for energy channeling feats. Also, when I loose touch with my energy or just run dry, music can recharge me if it is of a nature similar to my current mood. Music is also good at helping focus the mind for a fight. In a fight, the appropriate music can allow you to tap your inner beast. Combine the primal physical power of the monster with your higher thought power and you'll see just how deadly magic users can be, even in mundane fights. Thats what I do before I go to karate class, and what I did before my blackbelt test. I played some of the loudest, roariest, yet good music that I owned and it got me so pumped up. I really did feel like more of a primal being.

I never really looked into it though. All i know is that some time ago my one of my great grandpas married a Micmaq woman in I don't know where in Canada. And here I am a decendant.

I have a strong afinity for Gothic Foreign Opera Metal, and Mystic Metal. I dont' know why, but as someone who's constantly torn between two ways of being; almost like two different people living inside me. It helps to put my spirit at ease, as if declaring itself the eternam music of my soul. ~Asha

I like music... as long as someone else makes it. I'm not actually tone deaf, but I have a very hard time connecting sound I make with what I should sound like.
Drums now... drums are cool. I took a taiko class once and one of the things they talked about was how druming affected your energy flow. We made bucket-drums to practice on and we were all encouraged to customize them, paint on them, whatever, to connect to them a little. I'd love to learn a few more drum styles. Something a little more small-space friendly than taiko would be excelent...

I don't use music on purpose, but lately I have been almost feeling music when I listen to it. Sometimes, when I'm relaxed and listening to a good rock/alternative song that I like, I get shivers up and down my spine. Soon after that, I stop feeling my body and feel as if I'm this one pulsating...blob...of energy just floating in midair. I don't even know how to really explan it, but it feels amazing. As soon as I try to make the feeling last, it goes away. I can sometimes do it on purpose, but the feeling is never that great.
I have been asking around and nobody can explain what is happening. I have been studying and practicing psionics on and off as a hobby for years, so I'm fairly familiar with what energy feels like, and I am positive that what I am feeling is energy. For some reason, what I can't figure out is what's happening to it. Is it just moving inside my body? Am I getting it from somewhere? Or maybe I'm releasing it instead of collecting it? I'm thoroughly confused.
I have asked some musicians about this (mainly those related to rock/alternative/nu metal music, which is what brings up the feeling in me in the first place). A lot of the musicians I've asked told me that they know exactly what I'm talking about and have gotten the same feeling before. The only difference is that they get it when they're playing an instrument or singing. One of the people I've talked to described that he actually went into a kind of trance while playing guitar at a gig with his band. He did not notice when the show was over and went on playing. He was 'jerked awake' by his band members a few minutes later. At least that's how he described it.
