Something I picked up on The Source's official website...it's the first in a new trilogy. The impression I'm getting is that they're trying to do some sort of final reconciliation will all the past Highlander stuff. Each of the four movies screwed up the continuity of the one before it, and of course the series did it's own stuff.
I don't know if it'll work, but I think they're trying to take the best elements of all the past Highlander and put it back together into something coherent.

the source itself is a little hokey, but then again, so is most of the dialogue. They better fix the god-awful queen covers. If they DON'T make it into a trilogy, it has the lamest ending ever. but getting there's pretty cool. Methos throwing his sword is simply the most awesome thing ever.
and he BETTER not be dead. he just kinda rides off and it's unresolved.
that would be the lamest movie death since ... well, i don't know if anyone saw the first Dungeons and Dragons movie...
If you're a as big a geek as me, you'll like it.

A am pretty certain Methos survives, but the ending is very veuege and you don’t really know what happened. I think the point is there can be only one, didn’t mean only one immortal could survive to gain the prize. I think the point was that there could be only one to receive the source. It seems to me like they set it up for a sequel.

I thought I was going to hate it, but now I'm in shock that I didn't. Sure, the plot was stupid, there was very little chemistry between the characters, and I got the BIG impression that we missed something important that had come between Mac and Methos since the last movie (other than the Horsemen, because according to the series finale Duncan had managed to put that mostly behind him.)
Still... I can see where they wanted to go with this. I rate it as Not As Bad As Advertised.

I wasn't as disappointed as I should have been either, but still after watching it about a week ago, my reaction at the end was "ummmmm...."

I HATED The Source. I can put up with a lot with from the franchise, but fans could have done a better job with a better story and a better budget. I watched a downloaded version, expecting to at least have a little fun. WRONG!!
Joe and Methos die.
Anna has ZERO chemistry with Duncan and didn't even really need to be in the movie.
The dialogue as always sucks.
The villains as always are more funny than intimidating.
The story could have been done really well, but completely 1000% fails in this movie.
The source of immortality could have been so good, poignant and intelligent and instead is crap.....
The absolute worst moment for me was listening to the "singer" do Princes of the Universe and Who Wants to Live Forever. I literally had a physical reaction and I almost screamed at the sacrilege. Freddie must be turning in his grave every time the movie plays. HORRIBLE!!
Waste of life, this movie. I love the Highlander franchise, but this movie BLOWS>>>>>>

I read the wiki synopsis, and looking at the plot of the abomination, I feel amazement that anyone watched it a second time of their own volition.
