I'm not sure that explains the actual sensation of falling, but I suppose it would explain why I jump when it happens.(one time one of my friends saw me jump after that happened and thought there was a bug on me or something)

I've only done it with projecting and dreaming, and seizures. I'll get the petite ones where I'll zone out and when I come to I'll do that jump thing. But it's nothing to worry about unless you do it all day or something.

I'm actually fairly sure it's not siezures.(thankfully) I don't have any family history at least.(that and male pattern baldness are the only 2 things that aren't in my gene pool) I don't know, it usually happens when I'm almost asleep, but occasionally I get ones when I'm completely alert so something's gotta be up. Maybe I should be asking a doctor about this. sweatdrop

Nah maybe not a dr. If it's not affecting your life don't worry about it. I have no idea why you would do it when you're fully awake other than you startle easily maybe?

I have had maybe a half dozen times were I just had vivid day dreams were I vividly thought I was stepping off a cliff or down stairs. A few times I had tried to do that on purpose, and it worked after a while.

Wow and your body was still sitting/doing whatever as your other half went elsewhere? You must be really powerful if that's so O.O
Well, theres been less then a handful of times when I saw a fist come at me when I was daydreaming, and ducked litterally. I'm sure when I was younger it was just my mind wandering, and not paying enough attention to reality to know it wasn't real.

No way to know now really. I'm sorry for gwin that she can't get completely out of her body =( I've heard of that happening before. Just keep trying hun!

What if you self is binded and while you can leave your form and have mild perception of such you don't have full perception or limited perception

Example: Others can see me others can feel me I can orient on there person but I have no sight of such. I am interacting with said persona dn I can control my interactions and orientation without actually seeing what I'm doing. It only registers on one level... and the information I am recieving while completely accurate is generally missing information or is limited in some ways. I sometimes have more information then others... and the information I get is extremely graphic and accurate so doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the sences them selves just something limiting or interfering with reception of sences. Or lets say awareness... maybe

As to the jumpyness... its probably reconecting to nerves etc and the energy flowing through muscles after not flowing through and linking back up with traditional networks of influence that cause either seizure or startle seeming reaction. The feeling of falling... is probably just a coming to sensation I would think. Or just perception shift.

That coming too sensation of coming back to my body or reconnecting reliseing I have a body will make you jump a bit.

Just to point out, there are two threads here on astral projection with very different information.. which is fine. I'm just wondering are you both talking about the same thing, or does astral projection as a term, encompass a few things??

I've had experience with the jerky feeling. But it'll be when I'm just about to fall asleep and I'll think of myself walking downstairs and then skipping backwards and I'll start with one of my arms above my head and a sudden jerk or something.
Also, as I try to get out of my body, I never can. I get to the numbing sensation, but I just can't step out without actually moving my body.

Same with me. Though I have let my body several times without knowing what I was doing at first. Still can't figure out how to do it willingly.
