When I listened to Sleep before reading this I knew nothing I didn't know it was about Gerard, I didn't know Gerard had recorded it And the only words I could make out where "Felt as if someone was gripping my throat, these terrors" So thanks a bunch for that =3

That was Gerard? Sounds nothing like him...I don't really like the intro, personally... sweatdrop

that is simply amazing and in the the middle it seems like wwhen the tape starts playing again the lines "sleep just sleep,sleep" come in like he is coaxing himself and trying to cllm himself and it sound so amazing and then at the very end you can faintly hear"and i can't wake i can't ever wake up" that sounds so freaking amazing who agrees?

the first time I heard it i thought it would be my least favorite song on the album- then i actually listened to it and I found it amazing. absolutely shockingly beautiful. it was about the fifth time i was listening to it i turned the volume up for the intro and said "wow! this actually makes sense!" lol

Sleep actually always did put me to sleep. xD
Except for the fact that if you listen to it full blast in your headphones, because of the "Wake Up" screams, your ears will ring for three hours afterwards. o-O;
I could understand most of what was being said, but I didn't know who was saying it.

I really don't think it's Gerard's voice. The more I listen to it, the more I think it's Frank.

GigaCami I really don't think it's Gerard's voice. The more I listen to it, the more I think it's Frank. Agreed. Gerard's voice is a bit higher pitched than what is on that tape. Though, you never really know because of all of the stuff that you can do with any type of audio track nowadays. damn, now i wanna go listen to it again.....

I remember reading that it was based on Gee's nitemares, but I always thought that Sleep, was about the patient. Its amazing how MCR can mae and album and but a little bit of themselves (OK, a lot) into the characters.

Thanks for posting! It really does make sense after I read what you'd said. I knew it was Gerard form the very beginning, though. Sleep is probably the best song [that I like] on their album.

When I first heard it I actually thought it was Mikey, because I had recently read an article in BLENDER magazine that basically said that he had sorta had a mental breakdown of sorts. But then I read the LE thing that Water posted and I listened to it again and realized that it was actually Gerard.

I listened to the song a few times, so eventually I got the 'It feels like someone is gripping my throat', and then something about seeing the people he loves dying. o-o;
