radical jojo Yes, the music is wonderful, and Phil Collins is very talented, but I can't be the only one whose adoration of this movie is based on its visuals, can I?? [Smile] Whatever do you mean, Jojo? I can't imagine what you're talking about. I mean, aside from the mostly naked hot guy with the rippling muscles... xd If you enjoy the visual aspects of the movie, I bet you'd REALLY like the Tarzan Rocks show at Animal Kingdom, where it's live and up close.

And now for jojo's favorite Tarzan lines....
Tantor: "Are you sure this water's sanitary? It looks questionable to me!" Tantor's Mummy: "The water's fine, Honey." Tantor: "But what about bacteria?!"
Tantor: "Pirahna!!! There's a pirahna!" Tantor's Mummy: "Honey, there are no pirahna in Africa." Another Elephant: "Shh, don't tell the kid that! Of course there are!" Yet Another Elephant: "No, actually, she's right. They're native to South America."
Tantor: "Get away! Don't you know a pirahna can strip your flesh in seconds?!" Terk: "What? He's not a pirahna! He's...." Tarzan: (cough) Terk: "...ALIVE!! He's alive! He's alive!" Tantor: "Yay, he's alive!" Terk: (To Tarzan) "You IDIOT!!"
Jane: "And cute, cute little baby monkey! And then suddenly I was surrounded! By an enormous group of monkeys! A whole flock of them! And Daddy! They took my boot!! And then I was running and chasing! And then I was saved. Saved by a wild, flying man in a loincloth!" Prof: "In a loincloth?! Good Lord!"
Clayton: "GO-RIL-LA!" Tarzan: "GO-RIL-LA!"
I'd quote more, but most of the movie's best "lines" are visual jokes. Ah, well. So it goes.

UsagiBunny I really enjoyed this movi a lot. I must say, I love how Clayton dies. It was just so cool! I love the music and my favorite character is Jane. It sounds really weird, but yeah, I love the way that Clayton dies, too. Actually, I think that that's my favorite Disney character death. It's just so dramatic, then subtle, with the silhouette in the lightning that some people don't even see the first time....Hey, I think I know what the next new topic is.

The visuals are spectacular in this film. 3nodding *cough*and who doesn't love a man in a loin cloth?*cough* I'm really shocked that I haven't bought this movie yet as much as I adore it. I love Tarzan's animal movements.
One of my favorite scenes is when Tarzan and Jane are swinging on the vines and theirs start to entertwine and they're so close for a kiss! 4laugh Anyone know where I can get my hands on a screenshot of that scene?
Phil Collins is a great musician. After acquiring the soundtrack, I often scan the radio for stations that play his kind of music and come across some at times.

My favorite character is Jane's father. I love it at the end when he's like "Tell them you never found us, I mean, people get lost in the jungle everyday, toodleloo" *jumps off rowboat*...I know that isn't exactly what he said, but it's still funny blaugh

Eccentric old men, seems to be a theme in Disney movies.
I was reading the novel Tarzan of the Apes and found a lot of gory stuff that would have been excellent to add to the movie, but then again I can see how it might be rather harsh. Like when a young Tarzan gets his chest slashed open by a gorilla or Kerchek kills Lord Greystone and sinks his fangs into the cold flesh of Tarzan's mother. I've so got to finish reading that book! There's the complete text online at Literature.org for anyone who is interested.
