nope i've never played it either.

I'd have to say that my two favorite games were FFVIII and IX. FFX was too easy, and FFXII is kind of boring for me right now.

FFVIII: Squall is probably the one main character that stands out from the rest. While most of the main characters throughout the series have had spiky blond hair, Squall has long brown hair. In addition to the physical differences, Squall also has an entirely different personality. Rather than being idealistic, he is rather cynical. Another bonus of the game is that it is a romance story. In other words, the story is based more around the relationships between characters than just saving the world because it's the right thing to do. The junction system is one of my favorite ways of powering up characters, because it gives you flexibility, but limits the strength they can acquire. Also, the final battle is one of the hardest in the series because of the insane length of it.

FFX: For one, the new battle system made the game excessively easy. In addition to being able to switch out characters to fit the current circumstances, you could see the order of actions ahead of time. You can also make your characters reach an ungodly strength and deal over the max amount of damage. Also, the fact that the final battle is won at the start of it due to permanent auto-life makes for an anti-climax. All these things combined with a story that never really caught my interest make this game my least favorite in the series.
