((Oh, I see razz ))

"Oh," she chuckled lightly, "You're right." Sachi took his advice and quickly began to work, humming as she fiercely scribbled down the new idea in her head.

A shiver ran down Domerin's spine. He wasn't sure how, but he knew some one - or some thing - was standing nearby, watching them. He tried to control his breathing, but the feeling only intenified. He walked over to the window, rubbing his cheast slightly. He took a step outside, taking deep gulping breaths. A slight movement in the tree caused him to jump, but whatever it was didn't move again. He thought he saw someone though....

"Hey Sachi," he called back into the room, "I changed my mind, I'll teach you how to hunt right now if you'll bring your bow and around fifteen arrows out."

((Oho, I just got a brillient idea for this. This is going to be exciting as well as freaky.))

((Hah, sounds cool. I was hoping I wouldn't have to make myself or character or whatever sit their writing and humming the whole time razz )

"Hmm?" Sachi looked up. Catching the emotion, but trying to appear normal, she said, "Alright, then," smiled, and went to fetch the bow. The girl pulled it from the back of the wardrobe and blew the thick coat of dust off it before returning with the arrows. "Let's go, ne?"

"Yea, but stay close," said Domerin, trying to appear normal, normal being serious. "Bears are prone to be rather mad around the smell of blood."

He walked nimbily into the forest, taking care not to break leaf or twig. He caught movement out of the corner of his eye less than a second after he entered, but he kept his face determindly forward, careful not to alert Sachi.

"I see." His efforts were mostly in vain, however, for Sachi picked up immediately on what he was doing and followed suit. She thought she saw something to her left, but couldn't be certain, and didn't want to alert whoever, or whatever, was out there that they were aware.

"This is easiest with barefeet, like I always have. Balance is absolutly nessiary in this. Walk slowly for now, we'll get on to running silently later. Cheak every spot you can step to ... use only your toes if you must."

He went on intructing her and soon they were deep in to the jungle. Any animal that did not see them was not bothered by them. There was some one, however, that watched their every move. Domerin was sure it was human now, because he had gotten a half look at his legs. There was a few times that he thought he had lost him, but he was always proven wrong by slight its of movement. Nonetheless, their stalker was good for one up in trees.

"Stop," he instructed Sachi suddenly when they were several kilometres into the forest and the Guild was well out of sight. "Give me the bow."

She nodded curtly before carefully giving him the bow. "I wonder what we'll catch.." she breathed as he loaded the first arrow into place.

"So do I..." he began to pull the string back, then stopped. "No you come here and load it. I'll guide your hand."

The sun was already high in the sky by the time Cheese woke up. She liked to sleep way more than she should have, and waking up late was one of the little joys in life she couldnt resist. She opened her eyes slowly, and groaned a little as she sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"Morning already?" she mumbled to herself, tugging her short brown hair into place. It wouldnt go straight just yet, but it was presentabe, at least enough for breakfast. Getting dressed sounded overated too, so she left herself in her night undergown, a long white flowing robe with puffy sleeves. She gave a final stretch and yawn before opening the door to her room and stepping out into the corridor.

"Are you sure?" Sachi questioned, considering the circumstance. "I think I can, as archery used to be a hobby of mine until that time I broke my arm..." She stretched out her fingers and grasped the bow. She held it straight in front of her and locked an arrow in place.

Domerin grasped both her hands and put his head right up close to hers to aim better. He guided he hands to aim at a rabbit some eight metres away, mutting things such as, "...check the point and check the animal...stay steady...pull it a little father back..." until he was sure the shot would hit.

"Okay, now let go of the string," he ordered and they let go.

The arrow flew the full eight metres and sliced through the back of the rodent. They didn't kill it, but it was pinned. Domerin let go of Sachi and moved to the rabbit. He brought out a knife, muttered something under his breath, and slit the animal's throat. The stentch of blood ruined the forest air.

Sachi grimaced, but held her tounge. They needed the food, and the only way to get it was to kill it. She didn't want to be the one to kill it, but she wanted to learn to hunt, and so she would.

"That's not nearly enough food, though, ne?" Her stomach twisted, thinking about killing, but she paid it no mind. "Should we hunt more, or what? You're the smart one here."

"I know, but this was game. Practice, although we are going to eat it. However, getting ample enough food for thirty so people isn't going to be easy - "

A short, whistling sound cut across his speach. A small, strangly wrought dart hit Domerin's neck. Domerin's eyes glazed and he fell forwarded into the the small pool of blood issuing from the dead rabbit. Some how, he had been knocked out.

Chapter 2: Abduction

The bright lit forest gave sudden birth to three men moving at blinding speeds. Two of them instantly grabbed Domerin, lifting him one to one of their shoulders, while the other grabbed Sachi before she had a chance to react. They did not, however, carry her off, as they were doing to Domerin, but just knocked her out with the back hilt of a dagger. By the time she will awake, all four of them will be gone.

Sachi awoke to blinding pain searing across her head and spots dancing before her eyes. She was in the middle of the forest, cold, damp, and alone. Night had fallen, and the thich tree cover made the darkness even thicker. She called weakly into the blackness around her, trying not to listen to the eerie nightime sounds. "Hello? Domerin?" There was no reply.

She wobbled, but managed to stand, and leaned against a nearby tree for support. Things were looking bleak. She tried to remember what had happend, but couldn't remember much. "I was hunting with Domerin, and then.... Then three men came, I think." It wasn't making much sense. "I have to get back to the guild without getting totally lost. This is not going to be easy..."

Domerin woke with a sudden gasp. His immedite reaction was to run, but he seemed to be chained in a standing position. He struggled for a few minutes, but the chain was too tight, so he gave up. He could only see one thing: A light on the horizen - or so it seemed in the pitch black. All he could feel was cool metal under his hand and still air. There was no draft. He could smell damp earth all around him. He guessed his was underground, under a water source - but then what about the light?

Before he could get much further than this, and long before he could explain the light, a voice spoke to him. The voice was familiar in the oddest possible sense of the word. He was absolutly certain that it was no one at the guild: 30 people were easy to keep tally on. But he was equally certain he had heard the voice before. This was absurd though. The only person outside the guild anyone knew was Granados who left in search of other civilation and never returned. Domerin could never forget his friend's voice and this was certainly not it.

The voice said, "Awake are you? Good, we can now get down to buisness. Drallie, give him a taster."

Even the stlye of speaking was familiar, though all at the guild spoke generally the same way. And why did the name of Drallie sound familiar? He was dizzy. He couldn't think straight. He knew he heard all these things before, but where seemed to be just beyond the reach of his comprehension.

Next moment after these thoughts passed through his mind, the strangest sensation of pain passed through his body, moving so fast that he didnot know where it began. He didn't care. All he wanted to know was when it was going to end.

It ended a few second later. Domerin hung there, gasping for as many breaths as he could take. He had felt that sensation only twice before, both from the same source. It was when he was hit by ball lightning.

The voice made a noise of satifaction. "Now you know the dangers of your works."

The meaning behind this was so astounding that Domerin was shocked out of his wits when he understood it. And out of conciousness.
