Color blind might be a fun one to try; several of my uncles are color blind, and they've gotten into odd situations.... We used to think my brother was colorblind when he was in kindergarten, but he just didn't know his colors xd

Heh ha heh. Actually being color blind actually helps in the military. Most color blind people can see camouflage, so they can be a huge help in the feild.

One of my MC's is crippled becuase it is part of his postion. All paladins are crippled either physically or mentally when they get their powers. My MC though has a screwed up right leg like the character 'House'.

Late Shift Well in the fantasy book I am working on I was thinking about having 'black' magic take a form of personal sacrifice. Arthritis, limbs withering, accelerated aging, and things like that. The magic eats away at you. In truth I was thinking about doing this with all forms of magic, but I could not come up with a safe way of having people learning it.
I'm also particular to blind/ color-blind/ blind in one eye characters. I don't know why though. Eyes seem to intrigue me<3

One of my characters can't see out of her left eye very well, if that counts as a 'crippling'.
I also have several characters that are emotional cripples. Writing them is very interesting because they can't react the same way that some other people would.
For example, if a normal character were to find out that their favorite pet died, then they would probably start crying and not come out of a depressive slump for a while. BUT an emotional cripple wouldn't react as strongly, if at all.
Does anyone find cripples hard to write? Like if someone's missing a leg then they couldn't very well run from an enemy, but at the same time you don't want them to die...hmm...

For me (who spends more time making up things about characters than actually writing my book) it is natural how they work and how they think. Due to the fact they live with their problems for years, they would know a different way of getting out of situations than the normal way. (Even some the whole people usually find the oddest ways, but that is beside the point.) Reagaul is difficult to write altogether, so I am not sure if his leg is more difficult to write about, or if it is just him. How does one write an easily forgotten character anyway?

Or it a character was diabetic, would my teacher or my aunt feel bad? Hmm... Most likely not. If anything, I think they'd be happy, or not care. "Oh, that person's like me. I can relate." Point of ethics as told by Sachi-san. (Sorry, inside joke.) If someone becomes offended by it and the book is actually fiction (and not actually an attack) then that is their problem to sort out. Besides, there are people who are offended if don't put in cripples; they may think you are saying that cripples are not worth anyone's noticed.
