Emmanuela Hmmm.... Again, I think I shall mention the "Giant Hampster Wheel" solution for this... How would that solve the problem? And who would use it?

You didn't read the other post I made concerning it, did you?
Well, all the useless people (telephone sanitizers etc) and the prisoners are all sent to this underground place where they have giant hampster wheels to create electricity for all the better people living on the surface of the planet.
Environmentally friendly electricity and something to keep the population downXD

Plus isn't it a bit degrading for those people? Would you sentence them to a lifetime of it or only for a certain time?

Yes, they would either die of exhaustion and be replaced by their stupid/criminal children. Or if they weren't good enough then they'd be shot. .... Erm... That's the point and yes I would.

Isn't that a bit drastic? Shot because they weren't clever enough? Plus no one is evil. Why should they be condemed to that because of a mistake they make in life? No one is perfect.

You do realise I was joking... Mostly... right?
I personally do not have any sympathy for stupid people. So what if it isn't their fault? They're the ones who are going to suffer for it, not just us.

So if you were born stupid you would just waste away your life on a wheel? I think not.

They're the ones who are going to suffer for it, not just us. I feel uncomfortable about the idea of deciding whether people have 'the right' to live based on their intelligence. Personally, I would probably value kindness and compassion as more important qualities anyway. Reducing birth rates would be my preferred option for population reduction.

I think we are having a bit of a misunderstanding. The giant hampster wheel thing was a joke.

I agree but controling birth rates is very difficult.

Yes, but it is a very urgent situation - and educating and persuading people to have less children would probably be easier (and definatly more ethical!) than commiting mass genocide. >< If you check out this website they've got more info: http://www.optimumpopulation.org/There's also a really scary population counter there which shows the numbers increasing.

Yes, but it has been shown that teaching abstinance does not work so would teaching people not to have very many (or no) children work too?
