His waltzes are indeed beautiful. My favourite is Waltz in C sharp minor, but the Minute Waltz is wonderful.

For my piano exam I am doing one of Chopin's nocturnes and for fun, I'm learning his Fantasie Impromptu.

Which Nocturne? And also, you are advanced enough for Fantasie Impromptu? I have the music and I can play the right and left hands seperately, but putting them together is something completely beyond me.

I'm playing Nocturne in B Major Op32 No1 and I've got roughly 2 and 1/2 pages of the Fantasie Impromptu put together.

Ah, the B major is indeed beautiful. My favourite though has to be the posthumous E minor.

I love Chopin's works. Especially the Heroic Polonaise, which is probably my favorite song by him. He's a great composer.

I LOVE that polonaise! It has to be one of my favourite's of his (in a major). I have never met anyone else who loves it as much as me!!

Like I said somewhere before, Chopin doesn't compare to Bethoven in my world, kinda like comparing Joplin to Rachimoff (sry about the speeling)

Music is opinion. I find Beethoven wonderful, but most of his music, in my opinion, doesn't compare to Chopin's.

although I do like it, that polonaise hasn't been my favorite of his works.

Nocturne number 2, e flat major.... I grew up on that one, its always been a favorite

Yeah, it's overplayed, but there is something magical about the Nocturne in E flat. The trill at the end is a monster to play though...

Hmm.. Surprisingly enough, I don't think I've ever actually played (or tried to play) any Chopin...

As much as I like the music of this amazing composer, I am not terribly enthusiastic about actually playing any of it... I wonder why...

Maybe the emotions are just too beyond my meager, shallow, self centered life... sweatdrop
