Shadroth Darkshock What!? No one said anything about Pete Ventors? Or Christopher Rush? Mark Tedin? Anybody?
Those three have done all my favorite cards! Well, Mark Tedin and Christopher Rush have done some absolute classic cards, but some of them I collect for the card, not the artwork. Like Lotus (Rush) and Nevinyrral's Disk (Tedin). Yes, you heard correctly, I'm boasting/gloating/whatever. I OWN A BLACK LOTUS. And four copies of Mana Drain. And a Timetwister. And I'm going to have the entire power nine in less than three years. Too bad no one around here plays Vintage scream It's cool brotha I have Vintage bombs too. I am glad CO is such a great Vintage state ^^

I personally prefer the art over the artist. My favorite art would have to be tainted monkey. There's just something about a monkey with a parrot on its head...

Rob Alexander is absolutely phenomenal with landscapes. Just look at the shocklands from Ravnica.

My favourite artists have been Ron Spencer and Rebecca Guay.
I find Rebecca's art really catches my attention. it's not as realistic as a lot of the other stuff, but it has so many little details to almost capture that realistic look.
Ron Spencer is another one because his art is very bright colours and incredibly realistic looking and detailed.

The Hellkite I say John Avon pwns lands haha. I am much the same in that I prefer individual pieces of art rather than the artists, but I do like Greg + Tim Hildebrandt, Rebecca Guay, and Shishizaru (I think...the one that did Enigma Eidolon) qft@John Avon. definately my favourite MtG artist.

Ive found John Avon to make the most spectacular lands. I also like Luca Zontini, Thomas M. Baxa, rk post,Dany Orizio, Jim Nelson, shishizaru, Thomas Giorello, Chippy, Hideaki Takamura. They all have such original and distinguishable styles. Though I may not like his style, Paolo Parente is easily the most recognizable.

My favorite artist would have to be Kev Walker. Didn't know it was him till I had a good group of cards I liked for their art work and I noticed they was all from the same guy.
