Well, I've got this journal now, so I might as well keep it up. What do folks put in their journals, anyway? Stuff that goes on? Might get kind of boring. I'll try to keep things interesting.
Mama was still sleeping when I got up this morning. I didn't want to wake her, so I went out on a walk for a good long time. Someone down a few blocks to the south must have done some cleaning, because there was a lot of stuff out to be taken with the trash. I went through it all and found some things that looked useful.
Here, journal, I can give you an inventory-
- 2 batteries (mostly full, I think)
- 1 flower pot, chipped but not broken
- string (not sure how long. It's pretty big)
- 1 ballpoint pen
- unbroken green glass bottle
I really like the bottle. I should go get flowers to put in it. If they're still alive in the vacant up the street. Mama likes little white flowers. I hear there are some near the train stop, but I don't like to go that far from home. I get tired walking home. I'm bored today, though. Maybe I can make a special trip, and then stay home and rest tomorrow.
It would be so cool to take one of those trains apart. I want to know how it runs, and why it makes all that steam. It'd be hard because the trains are so big, though.

At the bottom of the page, in letters that have been tortured into pseudo-elegant little curly-cues by the same unskilled hand that wrote the above, is added:
Quote:
If I had a wish I'd wish for two trains. One to have and one to take apart
