Lucius looked at Charis, eyes wide. "Uh...me? B-but I'm not interseting. Uh- um...I'm 120 years old. I'm a guard at the Royal Palace, I was born in The Ash Feilds, but raised her since I was 11. I have been traing to be a guard my entire life here. I have a twin names Uri-oh you know thoes things... Um. My mother was the fire elemental, my father the air. They both died many years ago. I am scred that I will loose controls again somday. I want to dance at the midwinter's fire dance with you-Oh! Oh! I-I didn't no...um, nevermind...I- I" Lucius pushed himself away from the couch and the floor and dashed to the door. He opened it, pushed Uri inside and shut the door, taken his twins spot.

Uri looked at the queen and then back at the door and then back to Charis. "What did he do?" Uri asked sensibly as he walked over to Charis, unsure if she would let him sit or run after Lucius.

Uri smiled at Charis' expreation it was a pricless one. He sighed and sat down, running his hand through is fire hair. "do you want to hear this? If I tell you you have to promis me you want go getting mad at him, it will only make things worse."

Lucius ran his fingers through his hair, mimicking his brother's movments. He shook his head and glanced around, watching.

Uri shook his head and closed his eyes. "I'm sorry. Truly I am. But you scare him to death as does this job. Ever since he first saw you, he can only think of you. Now he has the chance to guard you and he's so afraid that he will fail and be the one that they will blame with your death. He chose to be a warrior because they saved us, but he chose to be a gaurd because of you. His desire to be closer and do everything he could for you. He never dreamed you would beacome queen." Uri thought, trying to decide on how much to tell her.

"When you became queen you should have seen him. Not while he was here, but later, when he was truly being himself. He cried because you had become the unreachible and laughed because he had always been saying you were the best for the job. Now he's one of your guards, and untill you told him, he had not know your father was your mother's gaurd." Uri ran his fingers through is hair. How was he to explain someone who was his flesh and blood?

"You are- hum...You are...I don't know exactly. But you are the first women he eaver had intrest in. He's put up with alot of things fromt eh other guys and stood up for you a milion times...He has always idolised you. But here you are in the flesh and it scares him that he might do somthing wrong and then you'll send him away. I don't know what he would do if that happend." Uri shivered and looked out the window. If Lucius lost control...he didn't want to be the person it was let out on.

Uri shook his head. He was used to playing helper with hsi brother...but with teh ruller of all teh elementals? True he had known her most of his life, but she was his ruler. And she was talking to him like a friend. "Strange times...I do not know. You two both like horses. You could go riding...Lucius takes care of most of the warriors horses. You could practice your swordsmanship with him. He's been after me to get you to learn hand to hand better…He would love to teach you." Uri shook his head, amzed that his queen had just confied this much in him.

Lucius stood at ease, his hands clasp loosly behind his back. He watched the hallway, alert for any danger.

Uri smiled at Charis. "Well if you wanted to talk to him, you wouln't have to fine him. He's right outside. He would never leave his post unless ordered to. No matter how much he had ashamed himself." Uri shook his head and then shruged. "I do not care what you do, and I do not know what to tell you. Do what your heart tells you to do." Uri said.

Uri nodded, just glad he could be of some help.

Lucius knew the moment she was there and noticed how long it took her to look at him. What had he done now? But he looked at her in suprise when she spoke. "Of coure I'll gaurd you My Queen. But I think your advisors would want at least two gaurds, so Uri will have to come as well." He said, wondering why she was being so shy.

When she dropped her head, Lucius' hand itched to hold her cheek. He raise it up almos tto her cheek and then pulled it back, holding it in a loose fist. He moved his other arm to her shoulder knowing that it was now or never. "Charis..." He said but let it trail off, unsure about what he was going to say. He started to shake he was so scared, but looked down at his brunett haired queen. "Forgive me." He said simply and reached for her cheek with his other hand and tilted he face up in one smooth motion. He leaned down and met his lips with hers. He had closed his eyes, afraid of looking at her as he did the action that had been haunting his mind for decades.
