"Dragon Rush, my friend!" Chloe called out as soon as the Garchomp was within view, as Cael nodded, the Dragonite darting forward with a startling burst of speed, slamming into the Garchomp full-force.

"Dragon Rush right back at it," Notaro sneered through Chloe's old friend's lips, motioning the ground dragon forward. The Garchomp grappled with Cael for a moment, striking out with his bladed arms as he threw the Dragonite to the ground, Cael letting out a cry of pain as the Dragonite landed, shaking his head to clear it as he rose to his feet once more.

"Dragon Rush again, Cael, hang in there!" Chloe called, worried about her partner, but knowing the Dragon had the strength to finish this match at least.
Cael steeled himself, before striking out at the other dragon with a determined air. He slammed his tail into the Garchomp, knocking it off balance, as Cael darted in again, headbutting the dragon.

The Garchop was weakened, but still able to fight, as it went without orders, another Dragon Rush at Cael since he knew what to do. The blades slashed wildly at Cael, who winced, staggering a bit as the attack hit home.

"Alright, finish it off with one last Dragon Rush, Chloe called. The damage was done, and the Garchomp fainted, leaving a weakened Cael standing on the small island.

The Absol was next to appear as Chloe summoned Kaze, "Alright, Kaz, this one's yours," she promised, as the Charizard roared eagerly, facing off against the Absol.
"Focus Blast," Chloe called, as Kaze charged up, releasing a strong blast of energy at the Absol, who was clearly weakened considerably by the blow.

"Use Sucker Punch," Israfel demanded, as the Absol slashed at Kaze wildly with the blade on its head.

"Focus Blast once more," Chloe nodded, as Kaze repeated his earlier actions.

The Absol stumbled, but wasn't out of the fight just yet, as it used Sucker Punch once again.

Kaze made short work of the rest of the Absol's remaining energy with a Dragon Claw to finish things off, as the Absol stumbled, falling as it couldn't gather enough energy to continue the fight.

"Surf!" Chloe called, as a sudden tidal wave met the Arcanine head-on.

As Notaro summoned Israfel's Lucario, Chloe called Kaze back out, ordering the Charizard into a Flare Blitz, as Kaze charged the fighting type, flames bursting from him in an enormous blast of heat.

A Dragon Pulse found its way to Kaze, as the Lucario retorted with a blast of energy, slamming into Kaze as it growled stubbornly, refusing to give up.

Chloe sighed, glad that the fight was finally over, "Now give up, and leave Raef alone!" she demanded of the voice Notaro was using. Israfel only smiled.
"I'm afraid its not that easy, girl," Israfel declared with a smirk. "You may have beaten his Pokemon, but I still control this body!" he shouted, charging forward towards Chloe, pulling out a gun.
Chloe's eyes widened, as Kaze charged, "No! Kaz, stop!" she called, not wanting the Charizard to hurt Israfel, despite who was controlling him. She recalled the Charizard, and broke out into a run, diving into the water as Israfel followed suit. She heard a gunshot, but dove beneath the waves, calling Daimon out to assist her as they made their way underwater swiftly, trying to escape the pursuit.

As Chloe came up for air, gasping, she heard a splash behind her. Daring to look, she spotted Israfel's Milotic in the distance, and closing fast. Eyes widening, Chloe panicked, sending Daimon as fast as he could through the water as she kept hold, aiming towards the far rocks. If they could get there, perhaps they could find a place to hide? Chloe heard a shout behind her, the light of the entrance was blocked off, by one of Raef's Pokemon most likely.
Her escape route had been cut off.

Mind racing, trying to come up with anything that could help her, Chloe climbed on the far shore of the lair, recalling Daimon as she felt along the wall, trying to find what she was looking for.
"Where is it...." she murmured, searching frantically for the spot... ah! There it was! Chloe spotted the familiar rock formation, digging frantically to uncover a small package wrapped in paper that was falling apart, and ied with a string that was now rotting.
"Found it..." she sighed, not allowing too much relief. After all, there was still the matter of Israfel.
A shout behind her alerted her to his position, as the Milotic charged easily through the water. Chloe summoned Kaze, knowing it was no use hiding, as his tail illuminated the far side of the cavern, Chloe hopped on his back, as the Charizard struggled to get aloft in the low cave.

Chloe and Kaze made their way across the cavern, as a gunshot fired behind them, an erruption of rubble exploding overhead as the bullet hit the ceiling nearby, Chloe cursed under her breath. "Kaz, keep your tail moving," she begged, hoping the throw of light would throw off Notaro's aim, as the Charizard nodded, flailing his tail behind him as they sped across the cave.
Another gunshot, and Kaze veered, roaring as Chloe felt a jolt behind her leg. She looked down to see a bullet wound deep in Kaze's flank, bright blood dripping to mingle with his orange scales.
"Fly on!"Chloe implored, for what choice did they have?"
Another bullet whizzed past, and another send Kaze into a sudden turn as it shot up in front of them.
Chloe hung on for all her life, knuckles whitening, legs clamping over Kaze's flanks. She wanted to reach back and try to stop Kaze's bleeding at least, but she couldn't risk it in that frantic moment of dodging and twisting.

The exit rose before her, the light seeping around a form, which Chloe assumed to be one of Israfel's Pokemon.
When she was met with a wall of flame, she figured it to be his Arcanine, and hoped Kaze had enough energy to knock past the clearly weakened canine, but a different sight met both Charizard and rider as the flames illuminated the area.
A Magmortar stood, smirking, a shadowy figure behind it as it released another blast of fire that had even Kaze veering to avoid it. The weakened Charizard was in no shape to fight, much less with Chloe atop him, as he fled the exit once more, circling about to try again, or search for another way out.
They found none.

As he controlled Israfel to fire off his last few shots, Notaro motioned to the Magmortar in front of him.
"Make sure they don't leave this cavern alive..." he stated simply, as the fire type smirked, focusing its energy.

Chloe didn't know what hit her, and perhaps more importantly, what had hit Kaze. They held motionless for a heartbeat, sudden, crackling gusts battering them from all sides. Then they were falling, dazed, but only for a short span before Kaze spread his wings, catching a faint breeze from the entrance.
But they were lower again, too near the water, and with all momentum stolen. No skill, in rider or mount, could counter the sudden reversal. Luck alone would get them through.
Chloe got hit hard on the side and nearly thrown from her perch, unexpectedly buffeted by Kaze's right wing. It hit her again, as the Charizard dropped suddenly. A bullet had driven through Kaze's wing, right at the joint, as Israfel's Milotic came into view.
Chloe leaned forward, imploring the Charizard for his own sake and for hers, to fight through the pain.
She got hit again, harder.

Kaze managed to stop thrashing and extended his wings enough to catch another breeze that kept them moving along.
They left the entrance behind, and soared high enough above the Milotic below that they were out of range, Chloe hoped. She believed they could make it, that her beloved friend had enough determination and fortitude to get them through. She turned to see the wound in Kaze's flank to check the damage, or tried to.
For as Chloe pivoted, a fiery pain shot through her side, nearly taking her from consciousness. She somehow settled, and turned her head, realizing that the last buffet hadn't been from Kaze's wing, for a glancing bullet had managed to strike her. The closer line of blood pouring down Kaze's flank was her own and not the Charizard's.
Her right leg was going numb, as patches of blackness flitted about her field of vision.

Chloe fumbled for her belt, grasping at straws as she withdrew Mikami's Pokeball.
"Fly on," she murmured to the Charizard, though she knew that every stroke of wings brought agony to her beloved friend. But they had to get out of here.
They had to.
Chloe called Mikami to her lap, lifting the small Trapinch as she struggled to control his panic at being suddenly so very high up.
"Hyper Beam," she murmured, aiming towards the ceiling. Mikami gave her a confounded look, before looking to the ceiling confused.
"Its our only chance..." she whispered, fighting off another wave of dizziness.
Mikami followed orders, obedience overcoming logic at the moment. Whatever Chloe said had to work, right?
He sure hoped so.
As the Trapinch focused all his energy, firing off a sudden blast of a beam at the ceiling, the Charizard beneath both him and Chloe darted forward, eager as he saw the sudden flash of light as sunlight drifted between the falling rubble.
"Come on, Kaz..." Chloe murmured, closing her eyes, and daring to hope for the best.
Mikami let loose another beam of energy once he had enough time to recover, sending more of the ceiling caving in, as Kaze somehow managed to avoid the majority of the boulders falling, although a few clipped his wounded wing, causing him to roar in pain and stubbornness.
He wasn't going to give up. Not ever.
