"So she isn't a noble." Kithala placed her hands on her hips. "What is it with this family and not being able to marry someone of their own class?" She looked towards Kenshin. "But look, I promised not to criticize or something so I won't."

"Perhaps you could get a man if you looked past our nobility," he said annoyed.

"Don't you think I haven't tried? But no body likes a woman with a strong aura apparently. I guess they're all afraid I will kill them in their sleep or something similar. Noble nor peasant is manly enough. At least so it would seem."

"Perhaps. But anyway, do you think that this waitress likes you? Many people are afraid to love royalty. It can cost heads." Kithala moved a hand through her long red hair. The servants were already bringing in the wine.

"I don't think she will. She is very open-minded and all she cares about it the wellfare of others, which includes you, young one. Besides, her first husband was sort of noble but a drow and Mikaheyani was no noble at all. So I don't see why she should disapprove. Mind you that you shouldn't use women as toys. Don't play with their heart."

"Well then tell me what she looks like. Or what you like about her." Kithala walked over to the table and got a golden goblet. A servant ran up to her to fill it with red wine.

"Can I have some wine too?"
He got a silver goblet and asked for dry white wine.
"About Vasbeth... Her hair is golden like the sun, with divine little curls. Her eyes are blue as the sky on a bright summer day, and deep as the oceans. And she makes me smile when I see her."

Kithala slowly took a sip of her wine and licked her top lip with the tip of her tongue. "You truly are in love. You should invite her over for dinner sometime. Unless you don't want her to suffer from peer pressure."

"I'll invite her over, that's for sure, but not yet. I want to get to know her better in more private circumstances first. Though not too private ofcourse..."

"A tavern is private enough for you? A place where your brother can walk in any time he wishes and drag you home with him? Or where undecent men can grope her as much as they wish?"
