The sound of young children laughing came by as the students were lead slowly inot the adjacent training field. Her mind came back from distant memories when she felt him wrap his arms around her. Her eyes widened in shock.
He followed me? But why? Why risk everything he obviously has with Sakura for just little old me?
"Naruto..."
Hinata felt his head land on her shoulder and she went to move, but found she couldn't. Either he was too strong or she was just that weak.
"Naruto... you shouldn't. This is wrong. What if Sakura found out?"
She tried to hide her hurt emotions, but her voice was slightly crackled.
Don't cry. You need to be strong. Don't show how hurt you are.
But no matter how much she tried tpo convince herself, the tears silently snuck by her and slowly fell from her cheeks.

Naruto felt a drop fall onto his arm and he knew she was crying. This only made him hold her tighter.
"What are you talking about Hinata? Why would Sakura mind? She would most likely be mad at me for making you cry."
She had looked so happy when she had seen him in the restaurant with Hinata. She had even given him the thumbs up when Hinata had had her back turned.
He felt like the biggest jerk for making her cry.

"Why? Because your with her."
Hinata found her strength and rose to her feet, moving away from Naruto, wipping her eyes on her sleeve. She felt so childish acting this way. but after following the same boy sor some many years, your heart can still break even if it never belong to him.
"I'm sorry..."
She whispered below her own voice, head hanging low.

Naruto looked around.
" Sakura's not with me. She's probably at home or with Kakashi."
Hinata wasn't making any sense.

She felt him move closer and her blood began to boil.
Why is he testing me? Is this some kind of prank?
"With you. Dating you. Your together. I saw the way you always look at her and today in the resturant... you were embarased to be seen with me and then Sakura in the window..."

Naruto stopped. She was mad at him. But why? He didn't understand.
" Me and Sakura are not dating Hinata. She was only happy to see I was with you.... "
He blushed.

Hinata froze and felt her cheeks burn up.
She just yelled at Naruto and just to find out that her suspitions were wrong? He's not with Sakura?
"Naruto..."
Hinata's voice softened and she fell once again to her knees. she had to stop doing that or she was gonna damage herself. But at the moment she was fused with mixed emotions: happiness that Naruto was not with Sakura, embarassment for acting the way she did, and confustion as to what he meant by he was with her. Her cheeks flushed once again and she placed her hands on them to try and hide them and her tear stained eyes.
"Naruto..."
She whispered.

Naruto came around and sat in front of her.
" Hinata, please look at me. I'm really sorry for embarrasing you at the restaurant and for being late. I didn't mean to make you sad. It's just the way I am sometimes. I'm really sorry."
He gently placed his hand under her chin and lifted her head up.
" Please forgive me?"

Hinata tried to smile.
"Oh Naruto, I'm not embarassed by you. The way you are is what I love about you. Sure your tartiness can get annoying, but I never leave. I'll always wait for you. Oh Naruto..."
And with that said, she lunged foward and wrapped her arms around his neck holding on for dear life, but making sure not to strangle him.
"I'm glad your not dating Sakura, for I've always wanted to be with you myself. Naruto... I love you."
Hinata got so caught up in her emotions, she didn't relize what she was saying. Sure it was all true, but she didn't stop herself in time. Her cheeks burned up fast and she tried to escape but felt she wasn't able to move. Was he holding her again? She just couldn't tell.

Naruto sad there, shocked.
Hinata loves me? I hope this isn't a cruel joke.
Slowly, his body began to relax and he wrapped his arms around her once more and held her as tightly as he could.
" I.. I dunno what to say HInata. Who could of ever though that you would love me; that anyone could for that matter."
There were so many feelings for him to handle at once. He had trouble figuring out which ones he should deal with first. Although, there was one thing he knew he had to tell Hinata.
" I love you too Hinata-chan."

Hinata was shocked, but then smiled. Wrapping her arms around his back, she held on for dear life, never wanting to let go.
"Oh Naruto-kun, how could I not love you. Your personaity, your style, everything about you. I don't care what others think. I've watched you since we were in the academy, but I was just to shy to say anything."
She stopped crying finaly and continued to hug him. She didn't care that the children from the other field were watching and giggling, or that Sensei Iruka was with them smiling at the two and nodding his head in approval. All that mattered was Naruto felt the same for her as she did for him.

" Really? you liked me then? You should of said something. I would never have guessed. I always though you liked Kiba."
Quite clearly, Naruto was still clueless after all these years.

Hinata giggled and leaed back away from Naruto.
"After all those years you've never know? You never saw me watching you or cheering you on? What about the chunin exams? I only cheered for you. Kiba... he's a good friend and all, but nothing compaired to you Naruto-kun. And besied, Kiba is fighting Neji over Ten-Ten."
Hinata giggled and quickly kissed Naruto on the cheek, her cheeks tunring bright red.
"It's you and only you I've wanted, silly. no one else."

Hinata threw away all her fears and pushed herself into him, their lips locking instantly. The children in the background cheered and some make gfaging sounds as Iruka hushed them and tried to usher them away. Hinata could feel her cheeks bunring, but didn't care. She had been holding it in for so long she felt as though she would burst if she didn't let it out.
