TheNutcrackerPrince I don't think I'd want to cause/experience subspace. I like to have control over what I'm doing. However.
If there was a male I really, really trusted (I'm more willing to play the sub with men but usually I'm always the dom) I think minor subspace'd be fine. Like being in so much pleasure I could barely talk. Something like that. I don't like pain inflicted on me so -shrug- It's euphoria. It's wonderful. smile I don't know if it's possible to be in "minor subspace". Some people call it "flying". Absolutely amazing feeling. The only problem is that I lose the ability to distinguish hurt from harm.

I experience subspace for the first time. I was laughing so hard throughout it and even thinking about it makes me giddy, it was that wonderful. Silly Sadist (the person with whom I play) is much more experienced than I am and realised what was happeneing immediately. He knew if I went any deeper in, I'd be in danger. But I was still slightly disappointed when he stopped (REALLY disappointed, rather). The thing is, most people don't come out of it so well, I hear. They tend to want alone time or some such-- or that's what Silly says he's used to from girls-- but I love cuddling and giggling afterwards. And snacking.
But when I say I was laughing during it-- you know how small babies will laugh with abandon as loud as they can? Yeah... my throat was a little hoarse after it.

Mors, different people need different after care. I wouldn't consider giddiness and laughter to be unusual. The club we used to go to made sure to have sweets (jelly beans, mostly) and juice available for when people came out of sub space.
What danger did he believe you were going to be in?

He didn't want me to crash and become an emotional wreck, or even just go cold.
As for the whole sugar thing-- he made sure to bring snacks for me.

I'm wondering how long it takes for some to experience subspace...does it normally occur after a lot of play and experimentation is carried out, or is it just as possible to experience if your new to the whole thing?

The Wild Eyed Dream I'm wondering how long it takes for some to experience subspace...does it normally occur after a lot of play and experimentation is carried out, or is it just as possible to experience if your new to the whole thing? I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I'd guess that it'd occur when you're with a Dom/me that really suits you and does just all the right things... So. *shrug*

Sub Space is my home. I have a Dom who can get me there fairly often when we start engageing in heavy play and I love it so much. And for that matter so does he. He told me once he knew he had done his job when I got the heavy-lidded drugged out look. He's always really good about keeping controll of how far I go and coaxing me out of it. Usually it takes un-tieing me, and depending how much I struggled I get massages to keep up circulation and lots and lots of cuddles. If there was heavy lashing, as there often is, his favorite recovery and care method is ice. Which feels delicious by the way, the cold over the welts and places where skin broke while you're still in that total disconnect. That and just the feel of his hands caressing my welts are my two favorite sensations. He also talks me out of it, which helps a lot, usually a lot of "you've been such a good girl" and "I Love You" 's Having someone help you come out is so important because it is such a total disconnect. My dom was very correct when he likend it to a drug like experience. I personally hit it and the world doens't matter to me anymore. Just the play, the tiniest sensations, and then sometimes my Dom can get through that fog to give me commands I understand. At some point I will only want him and no more play and he knows it. That's when he stops everything and comforts. And let me tell you it is the most connecting feeling ever. Knowing you've practically had an out of body experience and when you come back down it is in the comforting arms of your dom. . .I can't even. It's just amazing. And understand comming down and out of it can be completely different for everyone every time. I know another sub who came out of it terribly and was angry at her dom for a good two weeks for no reason, and he had done nothing different. Around that time I offered to cross train with her dom so he would understand better. Education is key to controll over subspace, education and experience.

I couldn't really tell you how to induce it. I've been there though, and the experince isn't really something I can describe. I'm sitting at my keyboard now, eyes closed, thinking back about what I felt and what everything felt like and words escape me at the vastness of the experience. I suppose an artist might be able to protray something like this but it is beyond me.

xXFallyn_AngelXx so could a sub go into subspace with out a lot of pain? hmm. I do think it's possible. But much more difficult I'd think. Most people I know or have played with enjoy the pain aspect of it and are fine with inducing sub space using pain. If it's something you're weary of though I'd suggest a very educated and seasoned dom/me to walk you through it all.
Angellus: I did the same thing when I wrote my response and found it so hard to really. . .express it. I wrote a lot but in no way did I hit the mark I think.
