I'm probably going again next year, though I might not be joining in the cosplay (they need to fix their organization!) Then again, I might be driving there myself and staying overnight--I'll be 18 by the time the next one rolls around!
And I'm already scoping out costume possibilities. I love playing dressup. ninja

Well, If I do get to go next year...(depending on if my dad will actually keep one of his promises to me) I'm gonna go with a group of my friends and do a big cosplay group for a cross between the Namco games; i.e. SoulCaibur and Tekken. I hoping to go as Xaiughua =3

i'm definitely going next year! though once i again i didn't pre-reg. i never have any money left after AZ to pre-reg even though i know i'm gonna go the next year hehe. hopefully i'll also be able to go to otakon and nekocon this year. i've never been to either. i just don't think i can wait a whole nother year for another con! as for cosplays, i haven't the SLIGHTEST clue yet. i don't even know what i'm doing for otakon and that's in 2 months o_o.
and celestria, i was thinking about making a ling xiaoyu from tekken costume at some point smile

anthonylynch i saw the table where you could pre register but i decided not to. as far as cosplay goes, i already decided that i wanted to be a BR student and i'm trying to convince my mom to cosplay sakura from naruto xd I keep meaning to do the BR student. I have most of a girl's costume together and all of a boy's. I even have Mitsuko's weapon which is actually a kama and NOT a sickle. *worships Mitsuko* One year while I worked at Blockbuster I got ink on my bunny suit so after crying my eyes out my mom came and took me to my apartment to change so I came back in a boy BR student costume. Lotsa people questioned the collar. *L*

Cosplay was better and worse than last year. It was better in that it actually was almost better organized and they had the video thing going on for us cosplayers to watch the other groups do their skits. It was worse in that they didn't appropriately plan for the Evangelion musical, which was disogranized because they hadn't planned on it becoming a big event. Hopefully they'll have that bug fixed by next year.
Great costume ideas from everyone. ^_^ I look forward to seeing them, especially the Guyver one. It looks difficult, but it'll be an awesome costume. How do you plan on doing the armor?
My father-in-law is going to be joining us next year and probably cosplaying something. ^_^ My mom has problems with crowds so although she's dropped by to say hi and check out costumes and stuff she couldn't stay long.

The armor takes at least two people to make, considering especially someone has to be molded. Plaster, fiberglass, thermo adhesives (hot glue in laymens terms heh) and lots of patience. I have almost 70 pages of instructions on making armor. In truth the only problem is when it comes time to actually sculpting it. Actually, there is another problem. Buying spandex xp

Speaking of which, I don't know if anyone noticed the Protoman and Zero cosplayers at the con, and not meaning to be rude or insulting, but they were kinda "sub-par". I believe the comment I made on the helmets were that they looked like they were bashed in. From the looks of it, they were made from paper mache, which is not a good way to do it. They could do Megaman costumes the same way I'm doing Guyver. It'll look tons better, and it'll take less time and be easier than the Guyver because you're not doing a whole body, and the structures are more smooth, so less sculpting is involved.

We did something like that with Ekoja's Ashram armor last year. We made a fiberglass mold of him, and used that to mold his armor. We used polystyrene plastic and a vacuum-form table.

I've also realized there's another problem. What to do for a skit. A fighting routine to Ballroom Blitz? Posing to the Guyver theme song? What do the judges like? What does the audience like?
