My love for Shoujo-Ai, or rather, when it flared up into a giant flaming ball, started at exactly

7/16/05 at 5:05 AM

I got it right there in my folder.... Keheh, and it all started with the now defunct shoujoai goddess forum. Heh, soon after that, Sailor Moon's Lita/Ami REALLY got me to stick to it. Found a lot of Shoujo-Ai animes, and stuff like that because of it....

Heh, 3 monthes ago was the 1 year anniversary... Heheh

Haha, knowing the exact time that's cool. I wonder what the oldest image on my comp is now.

w00t! I win! I'm kidding, I figure everyone who's been into yuri as long as I have is elsewhere.

I've been a hardcore anime fan for 11 years or so and a yuri fan for 9 or 10 those years. I must've been 12 or so... and I just recently turned 23.

HarukaxMichiru were the first pair for me of course.

I have always been into girls, so of course I loved shoujo-ai! It wasn't until I was around 10-11ish that I actually understood my feelings though. I turned 18 in June, so you do the math. As far as my first pairing...I never really had one. sweatdrop

I've been into yuri since I first saw the cover to the hentai F3: Frantic, Frustrated, and Female. I must've been... 12 at that time... maybe... I think... I dunno. gonk

Let's see here in 10th (15) grade now...
Hentai: 6th (11)
Yuri: 8th (13)
Yaoi: 7th (12)
I think I got those right, my memory is kinda bad.

Err, not quite what I meant. I was asking about how long you've been reading/watching yuri/shoujoai anime/manga. <---lol that's a lot of slash

Ive been into yuri/shoujo-ai s9ince I was 12. <3
But into anime since I was only 2-years-old. O:
Also, im 16 right now. :3

Oh shiz! I missed that the first time I read it. What were you watching at two years of age?

Technically I've been watching anime longer than 11 years but before then I really wasn't really aware it was anime. Big fan of Godzilla and Ultraman since I was six though and was aware that was Japanese.

Prolly since like early '05 I didn't even realise I was a lesbian until about a year ago.

Prolly explains why I never really got that much into yaoi~

EDIT: I got into anime around 6 even though I didn't know what it was. I was hxc Digimon and DBZ fan I think having every american DBZ figure should have been a hint my nick name should have been dykee-mcdykedyke. surprised I turned 15 just a week ago.

I didn't realize that I was into yuri... until recently.

I was too young to understand what yuri was when I read Revoluntionary girl Utena (you know... this is a REALLY OLD MANGA SERIES.. IT CAME OUT IN THE EARLY 90s)

So i dont' know... =)

Actually, Shoujo Kakumei Utena from the late 90's. The TV series came out in 1997 and the manga had a short head start on it. The manga has little to no yuri in it. The movie and TV series are brilliant anime jewels.

The manga's art style is really old-skool shoujo though. And apparently I should go to sleep cuz I just started four sentences with "the"

XD I think in this context we mean shoujo-ai in just the anime/manga/etc. context, not as in lesbianism in general. A lot of us have always been lesbian, for instance, so then it isn't fun to talk about. =O

Yeh it surprised me when I asked someone what was their first anime and they replied with, "pokemon and DBZ"... sweatdrop Actually DBZ is pretty old eh?

How long have I been into Shoujo-ai/Yuri? I can't give you a clear answer to that, really... Now, if you were asking how long have I been into anime/manga... then I'd say it was during my single-digit years (probably ~8 yo) when my brother showed me the movie "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind". That was about 18 years ago. I've been into anime and manga ever since.

Back to your question... When I was 14, a friend from school lent me his tape of a whole bunch of Ranma episodes starting from episode 1. I liked it a lot, but it was the first time I had *wished* there was shoujo-ai in it... Frankly, at the time I had no idea such categories as shoujo-ai and yuri even existed. My first *official* encounter with shoujo-ai material, sadly, was about 6-7 years ago with "Revolutionary Girl Utena" DVD #1.

Like.

Maybe three years ago.

Because everyone was talking about yaoi and I was like...

I don't like guy guy anime.

Maybe there's some girl girl?

I like that kind of stuff.

And so...

I found some. XD
