[gossamer]!smile. Toga! Toga! I'll take on anyone on the subject of abortion. I think I could find someone for you. Bluecollarjoe is a conservative...I'm sure he's against abortion. I'll invite him.Abortion? Very simple topic. I am not a fan of it, obviously. However, my issue is the equality aspect of it. I will also volunteer as a judge/referee for debates if you need them. I don't really care which side of an issue someone takes, as long as they make valid points and posts. As for the issue of religious debates? That is a fruitless (no pun intended redface ) topic. You either believe or you don't.

Heh. Well- we need more differing opinions as I've said before. And anyone that can articulate their point well is welcomed here.

How about religion trying to take over the state via abortion laws?

[.Parade.of.Underpants.] How about religion trying to take over the state via abortion laws? I oppose this. The agenda of pro-lifers isn't to get church in, but to "stop the killing of innocent humans". But what people consider innocent, and who people consider worth saving is all a matter of opinion. It has nothing to do with religion, for the most part. Some people on a personal scale might feel the way they feel because of religion, yes, but that doesn't apply to the whole.

A while back there were a couple of lifers in the ED thread talking about the religious aspect alone, which included the theory that BD doesn't exist because our bodies are God's property. Parade was talking about these kinds of people.

After seeing this it took me a bit of time to really figure out things that I'd feel comfortable to actually debate and they've been boiled down to 3 things, sex (statutory rape laws, sexual education, pornography, etc. etc.), Racial/sexist focal topics (things like a.a., Racial privelages, Ethnic pride, etc. etc.) And the general Homosexuality which is usually the kind of topic that draws me in anyhoo. The two preceding are harder topics to find people to actually discuss things about though.

-homosexuality -abortion -prostitution -incest.

No more than a scare created by the government at the turn of the century. The reason many people think that is because when two people inbreed, the are combining the same genes, and there for doubeling any chance of genetic defects that run in the family. But not every inbred child has birth defects, look at the south. But some of them can have mental retardation, see George W. Bush.
