The crane came up into the ship. Bunny was limp, and naked, and had no hair. Feeling a kind of sympathy that he'd never felt before, Eike stroked her head, in the way a father stokes a childs head. "You will know the truth soon," he would repeat to her. Now, the rebuilding had to begin: Of her muscles, sences, knowledge...
[[we'll skip a couple of weeks, cos that'd be REAAAAALLLLLL boring]]

She remembered how her eyes had stung. She remembered how she hadn't been able to move a muscle. For days she lay on a cold metal table- like a baby, not being able to speak, or do anything what so ever. It had taken days, but finally she'd been allowed to get up- go to her room, on board the ship- she could walk again, her hair had even started to grow back. That soft silky blonde hair that had dissapeared all together when she'd been unleashed into the 'Real world'.
Two long weeks had finally passed- those two weeks having felt longer than any two weeks she'd ever felt before- well, in the Matrix that is. Today was a new day though, and her first at trainning. Tank was supervising her as she sat down- her mind flickered, along with her closed eyes as she waited. As though her brain was being programmed with a thousand images and facts per second. Everything from Kung Fu to how to walk in a straight line. Basics to some of the most advanced neuro-kenetic skills. With a flicker of her eyes she glanced up- the ship still dark, damp and cold. "You know.. That really hurts' she groaned- the headache settling in as usual, once more.

Eike came through to the room, looking over the downloaded files, he looked from Bunny to the screen and back again. "What is she on at the moment?" he asked Tank. "Umm, I think, basic maneuvers in aircraft. That will be fun." "Yes" Eike replied. He went over to the chair and put his hand on her head again. Her hair was growing at an extraordinary rate.

Her eyes were closed for a matter of minutes, her eyelids flickering constantly as she took it in. Moments later- the girl sat up with gasp and grinned. 'I know how to fly" she said without a moments hesitation as she sat up, her hands by her side, pressing down against the chair. So much imfortaion had been poured into that brain of hers with all these programs, it made her wonder how much room she had left. "That... That was cool" the girl beamed as she sat up, glancing across at Tank who had spent the last few days with her, uploading all the programs. "Eike... Is. Is this it? ALl this... Uploading and things.. Is this all there is in teh real world? Is there nothing more than computers, and paths to the matrix?" she asked- her questions back once again. A good sign she was on the road to a very quick recovery.

"This isn't all there is." Eike said positively, "But it is our job to release people's minds, like you." He unplugged her for a moment. "Well, let's have a look at you." Standing her up and turning her round, he murmered slightly. he looked at the back of her head and called to Tank, "No New adapters then." "No." Tank called back.

"Adaptors? New?" Bunny asked, confused as she tapped the back of her head- she had some hair, but not alot- she could still feel the rough skin of her sculp and something like a plug at the back of her head. "Release peoples minds. I understand that... But where do we go from here, I mean- what are we actually doing here .... Who managed to stop this all... What's our purpose?" perhaps she was asking this a little too quickly, and soon- but she was just bursting full of questions that needed to be answered.

"Let me explain, firstly, you need to understand that this is the real world, a world that is no longer free, but terrorised by AI, Artificial Intelligence." He stopped and turned to Tank. "Plug us in would you?" He did so and they found themselves in a living room, with a TV. The TV flicked on, showing the world, and Austrailia, then Bunny's Home town, and her house. "Recognise this?" he asked, "This is not a physical house. It is a code." The picture changed to symbols flashing down the screen, incoherant, dysfunctional. "This is what your house actually is, a code, or a series of codes that make up a picture." He paused and changed the channel. "Your world, looks like this." The TV showed news and scenery, people going about their daily lives. "The world we actually live in is like this." The scene changed to a barren wasteland, sandy, but the sand was not moving even though there seemed to be a large wind. "The sand is frozen." He turned to her, "Look at yourself, you look beautiful, do you remember this look? It is what you looked like in the Matrix, it is your self-projection, how you see yourself. You know what you actually look like is nothing like this. You mentioned 'who stopped it all?'" He turned away, "There was a man, who could change the matrix to whatever he wished, he was the one who freed the first of us. He said that we must free man from the computers." He turned back to face her. "And that is our purpose. Do you belive this?"

Plug us in.
The term was so foregin to her- and yet it came as no suprise as she was lowered back into the chair, they way she had been for the last few hours while trainning. Was this another trainning program. If so, why was Eike doing it to. She thought Eike had completed all his trainning. Surley he would've. He was captain of the ship no? As they were almost 'transported' to the room she took a while to take it all in. Her eyes scanning the white walls, right down to the red chair and the old fashioned tv set. "Who ... Who was this man, was he one.. Like... Us?" She asked quickly, immediatley a hand jumping up to run over the plug running down her spine, and head- but they were gone. "So, this.. This is the matrix?" she asked curiously- wondering just how far the 'matrix' was.. Just where and when you could be experiencing the Matrix.

"It seems normal, doesn't it, almost mundane. The next challenge you must face is to free your mind from everything you know." He stood up and gestured for Bunny to do the same. "Tank, load the jump program." Tank did so, and the ground fell away form under them. Below them appeared the top of a building, like what you would see in Australia. "You have to free your mind. Nothing you see here actually exists. Look at the ground, the sky, all of this is a projection, a dream. You have to free your mind." With that, Eike ran to the edge of the building and jumped to the other side, which was quite a distance away. He called back. "Now you."

"Nothing I see here exists.. Then... How can I jump from one wall to the other?" Bunny questioned- taking the fearfull look straight down between the two buildings. Oh god, that was a very..very long way down. How on earth did Eike manage that. No one... NO one could possibly jump that. It was humanly impossible. Then again, how was any of this possible. She'd woken up from what seemed a very long dream, to find this world was the real one, and the one she'd been in had only been a projection? A series of codes and binary numbers all through the 'Matrix' system. Then why could she feel her heart pumping loudly in her chest, why did she feel the sweat roll down her forehead as she took a step back. "Eike.... Eike, I don't know about this. I don't know if I can do this' she said as she took a loud, visable gulp and stepped back- her hands clenched into tight fists by her side- white as the blood couldn't get through. . She'd been squeezing them so tightly. She knew what he had said all along had been true. Why couldn't she believe this? Without another word, Bunny shook her head and started off in a very, very quick run- wanting this to be over as quickly as possible. She took off- her legs moving as fast as they could before she dared to take the huge leap off the building. For a moment there, she thought she could make it- she actually thought she'd make it onto the edge of the building- Just...
Then it all came crumbling down. A weight felt as though it had been pulled into her stomach, like lead. She was plumeting down head first, luckily she managed to turn herself quickly enough before hitting hte ground, landing hard on her back- causing her to choke and cough multiple times. The next moment, she was awake- back in her chair, back in the 'Real world' and by god, she felt... Crap.
There was blood on the edge of her mouth- a tooth had been knocked out- there were bruises and cuts on her arms, nothing seirous of course- but a good sign that she'd fallen.... Off the top of a bulding. "I thought you said it wasn't real" she whined out.

Eike, once unplugged, went over and helped Bunny out, giving her a tissue to wipe the blood away. "When I said it was like a dream, have you heard about the dream where you fall down a cliff? The saying goes that if you hit the bottom of the cliff, you have a heart attack and die. This is like that dream, anything that happens to you in the Matrix, happens here..."

"Geez.. I guess I better not dream of jumping off a cliff then" Bunny said as she strained to sit up- taking the tissue with a small smile as a thank you. "So... What happens in your mind- happens physically as well. It's not just... a myth" she said beginning truthfully to understand a lot more about this matrix. "Do you know why the Matrix was created. Why there's this 'fake' world out there. I mean, we're all created for a reason..So, why... Why create a human being, and then an image of one... I can't really grasp it. I read something about an architect and the Oracle once.. But it didn't make much sense to me"

Eike sighed. "The easiest way to explain it is to show you... We have a couple of screens showing Humankind, Tank." Tank flipped a screen round, and on it were pods, little red pods with what looked like lightning bolts streaming through them. He looked at Bunny....

She knew she was asking a lot of questions, and she was beginning to get the feeling she was annoying the crew.. Then again, how had they felt when they'd come here- when they'd been pulled out of the Matrix. Turning around slowly- she glanced at the screen and stared at it for a good while. Blinking a few times, she was quite unsure of what she was seeing- at first. "What.... What on earth are those" she gasped, staring at the red blobs every now and then you'd see soemthing move around the screen- but she couldn't quite make it out, thinking back to what Eike said- almost scared her a little bit. "They... THey're humans.. It's like we're... Almost built in a factory" she said shaking her head. "This.. This isn't right"

Eike nodded, "We know it isn't right, the computers knoew it isn't right, but they need to do it to survive. Humans give out a sort of 'energy' that the computers need to keep running, the earth cannot support their kind of life... anymore. So, they resorted to harvesting humans, they grow them in fields, until they are large enough to be 'born' into the matrix. Then, they grow, and they mature, and they get so attached to this reality, that they find that they cannot free themselves from it."
