There's gonna be a Genbu manga?! YEY!!!!!!! I haven't really looked into much about fushigi yuugi lately and I feel so left out... Oh well, god news for me

Rihga On the Cute-o-Meter, it scored about a 9.9 (baby Mitsukake was so adorable!). But in every other category...
Don't get me wrong though. I did like the fact that Miaka was only in it for about five minutes, and there was tons of Chichiri/Tasuki goodness (though I wanted Chichiri to have a bigger part... heh, but don't I always? ^^; ). I've seen worse anime. It wasn't bad, and I'd watch it again. But compared to the rest of the series, it was a bit below par.
Now I'm just waiting for them to turn "Shouryuu Den," "Genrou Den," and "Sanbou Den" into some OVA series... *practically drools at the thought*
Not to mention the Genbu Manga... I assume everyone else had heard about those as well? xd

The only reason that I didn't like it was becuase of Mayo. She was really selfish and greedy, and I can't believe that she tricked Hotohori's son.

I thought it was okay....but not great. There were some good/cute moments in it, but personally I really liked how Seiryu ended (that's gotta be a first for me, actually liking the way an anime ends. lol) and didn't see much need for Oni or Eikoden. But I'll always take more Fushigi Yuugi, so it was nice in that sense. ^_^
And sorry, but what's the "Shouryuu Den," "Genrou Den," "Sanbou Den," and "Genbu Manga" people are referring too? I only got the DVDs about a month ago, so I'm a fairly new Fushigi Yuugi fan. Are they all manga in the Fushigi Yuugi series, or what? Is there going to be more of the anime?

Shouryuu Den, Genrou Den, and all of the other Blah-Blah Dens are the Fushigi Yuugi Gaidens, which are sort of like OVAs. Most of them are focused on a particular seishi (Ex. Genrou Den is for Genrou/Tasuki). The author of the gaidens is Nishizaki Megumi, and the stories were created by Watase Yuu and Nishizaki Megumi.
Here's a list of Gaidens:
Genrou Den ("The Legend of Genrou") - Tasuki's novel.
Shouryuu Den ("The Legend of Shouryuu [Rising Dragon]") - Chichiri's novel.
Yukiyasha Den ("The Legend of Yukiyasha") - Nuriko's novel.
Ryuusei Den ("The Legend of Shooting Star") - Amiboshi/Suboshi's novel.
Suzaku Hi Den ("The Legend of Suzaku’s Sorrow") - Hotohori's novel.
Seiran Den ("Indigo Legend") - Nakago's novel.
Shugyoku Den ("The Legend of the Red Jewel") - Tamahome's novel.
Oumei Den ("The Legend of Fated Encounter") - Mitsukake's novel.
Yuuai Den ("The Legend of Gentle Love") - Chiriko's novel.
There are also other gaidens that are farther on in the series...
Eikou Den ("The Legend of Eternal Light") - A sequel to Fushigi Yuugi that was made into an OVA
Sanbou Den ("The Legend of the Three Talismans") - A sequel to part 1 of the manga and a prequel of part 2 of the manga with mostly Chichiri and Tasuki. (Yay!)
All of these, with the exception of Genrou Den and Eikou Den, are either completely or partially translated by Tetris no Miko. Genrou Den and Eikou Den were translated by Tasuki no Miko.

I liked Eikouden, but I didn't love it. I loved the cuteness of the rebirths of each seiishi. ^_^ But, I didn't like Mayo. It's just her personality I didn't like. I thought they could have improved on the fighting scenes too. It's a pretty good ending to the series, but it leaves so many questions. Do the rebirths of the Suzaku seiishi stay that way after the series? or do they stay as their older selves? XD
I would really like Yu Watase and Nishizaki Megumi to make another novel. lol. I really want to know.

Oh, don't get me started on this XD I'm glad to see I wasn't the only person who thought it was horrid. The CG was heinous, and they didn't even follow all of the novel's story! The only, repeat ONLY reason I wanted to see Eikoden was for Kouji with the long hair, but did they give us that? Noooooo.... I didn't even like the concept of the story to begin with. Mayo is a selfish b***h. I do not sympathize with her in any way. I also don't like the idea of the seishi being reincarnated into their own world. I think they should have been reborn into Miaka's (okay, so they probably will one day anyway, I don't CARE). And the Nuriko thing. I know that a little girl Nuriko is very cute. But honestly, I think if you really read into to his character, especially right before he died, I don't really think Nuriko wanted to be a girl. He had finally gotten over his crossdressing/gay thing, and he could finally be himself. I think it denied Nuriko ALL of his character developement to have him as a girl who has a crush on little Hotohori. Rar. I'm probably the only who feels this way, but xp Anyway, there's my rant that I didn't really want to talk about. *steps off soapbox*

Grr...DEATH TO EIKODEN!!! The only reason I have it is because it came with the Oni box. Watase-sama didn't write it therefore, the OVA was really just a HUGE OVER GLORIFIED FANFIC with a weak plot. I feel for Chichiri's and Tasuki's voice actors who are magnificent and yet were given such a crappy project. I luv the Chiri and Tasuki goodness but as stated above there was NO LONGHAIRED KOUJI GOODNESS. The whole plot was based on a fake Suzaku trying to kill the remaining Suzaku seishi...1st of all why whould he want to do that? 2nd why would he ask it of his "miko" to do that?! AND WHERE THE HELL DID THEY GET HOTOHORI BACKGROUND INFO?! It was frustrating to see how mismatched it was. It was so predictable it drove me to tears and definitely killed the series. My solution: Eikoden is EVIL and never occured.
So in conclusion, death to the screen writers, death to the CG happy animators, and death to whoever decided it was a good idea to produce this character-killing machine...DEATH TO EIKODEN!!!
