Jirya Ippikiokami i have, in my entire 7+ years of playing seen only 2 female players Were they any good? one was a noob, and the other i met at a tourny, i was there fo be in the Guild Wars, and i couldn't finish the 6-way because the tourny started, but she wasnt bad at all, but her deck, by her own admission, came out slow that day...and my 2 Howling Mines and my 3 Necrogen Mists didnt help any lol! "Untap, Upkeep, discard 3 cards, Draw 3 cards..." twisted

Jirya Elicit Trenegade I'm one of 3 in my area and I taught the other 2 with my boyfriends help xd lol, but I'm a lazy player usually & win 50/50 of the time, when I actually want to play to win...I win 9/10 times...heh... sweatdrop So, in some ways that helps, because they're used to me here being my normal not paying complete attention. So...like last time I played a big group game and kept quiet...I killed all 8 of them in one turn. HA! The little underestimating bitches....*cackles* It's cool to see another chick in here - do you often get underestimated by your male opponents? I played a draft on the weekend, and this guy started explaining how the whole thing works...so I told him I had won drafts before (cos I have!) and he shut right up. Yay! I used to, lol. And sometimes, yes I do get underestimated, there's a new guy that's kind of a jerk off & I've been playing a deck I'm still building to see what needs changing, what works, etc. with some of my friends & I'll even d**k around in the group games, but he keeps going on about how much money he's spent & seems to be offended I've created all of mine from the common box and trading. He also keeps patronizing me. Grrr.... But, I am the only hardcore playing female here, & I miscounted last time, there's actually 5 of us that play, but I'm the only one who carries her cards on me & plays at least once a week. The others play maybe once a month. *sigh*

Have you tried looking up the closest Friday Night Magic tournaments in your area? Just go to the Friday Night Magic thread on the main board.

Though I haven't found many female players to make an actual opinion, I would guess that they have the same capabilities as male players.

That would have been just as good as the look he gave me when I beat him

I have taught my spouse how to play after she showed interest in the cards for their art. She is still relatively new and does not have a large card pool (she hates using any of mine and would rather use her own), but she had done a great job building an artifact deck using a large amount of equipment and golems or myrs. Her and her sister both play now, and were probably just as excited about the Ravnica block as I was.
They both look forward to Time Spiral reaching us out in the boonies some time next week.

Well I have a friend who plays because of two things: Pretty pictures that are badass, and CATS! She loves the cats, she started in Mirrodin.
And currently my GirlFriend wants to learn... mainly because she tried to learn before and was confused, but also because of me.

My sister used to play....And I got a female friend hooked on it. She does kick arse sometimes, but most of my friends don't have huge collections, so they can't indulge in Deck building like I can (I counted I had over 5k cards a little while ago) so when they get the right starting hand or whatever, she manages to beat us all....
And haha, I am teh one who likes the pretty pictures (and I M a guy)

My sister used to play a cfew years ago. Aside from that I have't met any. But then again, I live way out in the middle of no where, and its hard to find any one that plays period.
