She was tossing and turning.

Why can't I go to sleep?

She knew she needed the sleep. Tomorrow would be another hard day of training. But something kept bothering her.

Why did Kakashi go easy on me today?

Was he finally giving up on her? Did he notice she seemed weaker then usual? Did he think of her as pathetic?

I hate this. I wish I knew what he was thinking.

When had things gotten so complicated? Sometimes, she wished she could back to the days when she was head-over-heels in love with Sasuke. At least, she had had no doubts about his feeling for her and how they would never change. With Kakashi, it was different. She wasn't even sure of her own feelings. Did she love him? Maybe she just though she did because she spent most of her time with and cared for him greatly. But he could be so hard on her, but wasn't that what she wanted? All these thoughts were roaming through her head. Slowly, she finally drifted off to sleep.

What are you doing to me Kakashi?

Kakashi, hit his alarm, got up and stretched. Today he would do it.

He would tell Sakura everything and straighten it out. Make sure that his feelings didn't mean anything. Atleast, nothing too serious.

Much easier said than done...

He took a shower, got dressed and headed out the door, ready to tackle a new day. After eating breakfast, he decided to browse around some stores to pass the time, since he knew she would still be asleep at the moment. After all, it was 5:00 in the morning, and their training was at 2:00. His plan was to meet her before training, so he could get it over with, rather than be uncomfortable the whole session.

She probably gets up at around 11:00, so i have plenty of time to kill...

He never really knew how to make the situation easier so he thought he might need to take her a gift. Just to show how much he appreciates her, and thanks her for wasting her time with him, all because of his stupid feelings.

He walked around town and looked through different store windows until he came to his favorite. Turning gaga-eyed, he scanned the rows of books that lay only an arm's length through the window.

I wonder if she would like Icha Icha as a present...

Smacking his head in disbelief, Kakashi walked away from the store. Of COURSE she wouldn't like Icha Icha! She wasn't a crazy pervert like himself, but what would she like?

And then it struck him. What every other woman wants!

Flowers and chocolate...

But would it seem too lovey-dovey? He was willing to take that chance. He jumped from roof to roof until he arrived at the store. He blushed when he saw the name: "Couple's Love". They weren't a couple, of course, but it was the only decent place for flowers and chocolate, so he decided to take a chance.

He bought her the gifts and raced over to her house. After taking a deep breath, he mustered up the courage to knock on her door. He braced himself for a surprise look, or an embarrasing "Aw-you-look-so-sweet!" moment, which, apparently, girls always seemed to have.

Was he really going to straighten things out, or would he chicken out at the last moment? And then it hit him.

What am I DOING here?! She's my student! I can't possibly tell her my feelings. She'll just see me as a dirty old man!

He jumped away from the door in the nick of time, right before he could see the look on the kunoichi's face. He watched from a distant rooftop, as Sakura found two presents, left mysteriously on her doorstep by some secret admirer: flowers and chocolate.

Who could have possibily...

Shut the door. Well at least they had woken her up. It had been long since she had slept in so long but she figured she wouldn't set her alarm last night since she knew her training was only at 2. She checked her kitchen clock.

11h. I've got a whole lot of time.

She looked back down at the flowers and chocolate in her hands. She looked for a note or anything that might let her know who these were from. Nothing. The only thing she found was a sticker label from where the chocolate had been bought. Curiousness took over her. She when to her room to get ready.

----------------

She stood outside the store. "Couple's Love" she read. This made her blush like crazy. Who had come here to buy her flowers and chocolate? It must of been some sort of joke. No one would ever buy her anything from a lover's shop. She entered the store. Wow she thought. She had never actually set foot in this very store. It was overwhelming. Suddently she felt tears come up to her eyes. She turned around and walked strait back out and went back home.

What is wrong with me? I can't even walk into a gift store without tearing up. Am I really that lonely? Or is it because I'm in love with a man I'll never have?

This only made her cry harder. She looked down at her watch and tried to read the numbers even though her tears were blurring her vision.

1:40, I should go...

She quickly wiped her tears away and walked back out of the house.

Ino yawned and wipped her eyes on her arm band. Today was another one of those days. Her parents were out of town visiting old friends and her personal cohorts were all off on some petty mission per order of the hokage.

Man this place is dead.

She thought to herself as she rounded the corner of the street she currently walked on. It was a dry but mild day in the Village Hidden In The Leaves causing the dusty roads to be loose and free. As such, the wind blew gently across the road and she was forced to sheild her face from the dust. As the wind and dust died down, she looked up and saw Sakura walking from a store.

Oh great... there's billboard brow. Just what I need to make this day better. And what is she doing coming out of a love shop?

Ino sighed and continued walking along her path. She pretended to brush dirt off her shorts/skirt. Maybe if she just ignored Sakura, they would pass without any words... or worse, use of kunai. But as fate would have it, Sakura turned right into Ino's path and they bumped head on onto each other. Enraged, Ino pushed Sakura off of her.

"Watch it billboard brow --- Sakura? Are you crying?"

Ino's mood changed swiftly and she placed a hand under Sakura's chin and forced the girl to look up at her. Sure enough the signs of tears were stained around her eyes and on her rosy cheeks.

"Sakura, what is wrong?"

Ino asked in a friendly tone, truely concerned for her old friend.

Sakura was surprised. It had been a while since she had met one of her old classmates. The greeting Ino gave her was no surprise but she was in no mood to joke around. In fact, Ino's words only made her feel worst. She didn't know how to answer Ino's next question.

Why am I crying? Oh no reason, I'm just in love with my former sensei that's all. Nothing weird about that right? Just a perfectly normal crush.

It was stupid though. If she couldn't talk about it with Ino, then who could she talk to?

Nah. She'd probably start laughing if I told her...

She looked up at Ino.

" Oh no reason. I wasn't actually crying. I just had something in my eye. Must be that new marcara I bought. I have very sensitive eyes. Well, I'll see you around Ino."

"Sakura..."

Ino knew something was up. After all she and Sakura grew up together and were very close friends for the longest time. As Sakura began to walk past, Ino grabbed her arm and pulled her back so that they were once again facing each other.

"I'm not as stupid as you think. I know something is wrong. Besides, your not even wearing mascara today. And if you were, the tears from your eyes would of made it run down your cheeks."

Ino could tell Sakura was resisting. After all, their entire time in Ninja Academy was spent feuding over the love of one boy, Sasuke Uchiha. Even thought neither girl got his love, they were unable to patch things up.

Too many harsh words were were spoken during those feuding years. But no matter how hurtful words may of been, Ino was not heartless.

"Sakura..."

The worried look in Sakura's eyes made Ino release her arm. Ino may of been a ninja, but she still had a heart for those in need. Thinking about it truely, Ino wished she had kept in some kind of contact with Sakura; friendly or unfriendly. But now too much time was lost and the connection between the two might be permenetly severed.

I know we've not been on the best of terms, but I wish she'd just tell me what is wrong. Problems are best worked out in pairs.

Ino sighed and pushed a loose strain of hair behind her ear. Forgetting about it, a small white flower fell from her head and landed on the ground.

Kakashi sighed.

Late again, eh, Sakura? I hope those presents didn't get to her head. Actually, I hope she didn't see me...

Kakashi darted to her house, but froze right in front of the store he had bought her presents. Ino was looking at Sakura, who, sadly, had eyes full of tears.

His heart broke as she slowly lifted her head and looked at him.

At first, she though her imagination was playing tricks on her.

Great now I'm seeing things?

But she soon realized that Kakashi was in fact right in front of her.

Oh no! I don't want him to see me like this.

She quickly wiped her tears away and looked back at Ino, pretending she hadn't recognized him. Somehow, she felt that if she kept looking into his eyes, he would somehow read her thoughts.

"Sakura? Ino? What's wrong?" he said, trying to ignore the fact that a couple's store was right behind him. "Why are you crying?" He wiped a tear using his thumb, but stopped when he noticed Ino staring.

" Oh its nothing Kakashi-sensei. Just something in my eye..."

She noticed Ino was giving her a disbelieving look. She would worry about that later, for now, she had to pretend everything was fine just so Kakashi wouldn't worry. She had to admit though that she liked the attention he was giving her.

Ino stared straight ahead, eyes flashing from Sakura to Kakashi and back again; many times. She could feel a thick tention rising quickly from all angles. A shiver ran up her back and she ignored it, trying not to bring attention to herself. Taking one last glance at Kakashi, she smiled and attempted a major bluff.

"Well... I need to get back home, can't leave my shop unattended for too long."

Ino chuckled. She could tell neither was buying her act. Clearing her throat, she bowed her head to Kakashi and then turned to Sakura and her smile faded. She chose to walk past Sakura, which would send her in the opposite dirrection she needed to go. Slowing down she whispered...

"Meet me after-hours at the flower shop."

Then clearing her thorat once again, she left the scene and turned the nearest corner. On the other street, she leaned against a wall and stared up at the sky.

I wonder what is going on... man to be a fly on that love shop's---- oh my god...

Ino could only smile as she pushed off the wall and made her way down the empty street. It was going to be a long walk back to the shop, but she needed the time to think.

Sakura...

And with a smile, she left the neighborhood.

Tenten sleeply rolled out of bed yawning as she streched and rubbed her eyes. She turned to look outside seeing the sun already streaming though her tan colored cutains. Did I sleep in again? It must be past noon already. She picked out her normal chinese styled outfit spreading it on her bed and quickly showered than changed into the clothes and left. She walked around the village aimlessly, normally she would train with her team, but Lee and Gai were on a mission and Neji was training with his uncle. "So bored..." She mumbled to herself while her stomach let out a loud growl. "And hungry..." She let out a sigh and sat in a small cafe.

"Sakura...I...Did...Who...Why are you crying?" he said, making up his mind on just what to say, but he knew why. He knew that on some days, she didn't just leave training and walk back to her house. Sometimes, she went to the bar.

He knew she was lonely.

He remembered that day,and was relieved when he found out Sakura was too drunk to remember even the slightest bit.

Well...atleast that's what he thought...he always prayed that Sakura sincerely forgot and wasn't just pretending to forget. But she didn't seem like she was lying, so he took her word for it.

*flashback*

Kakashi remembered it all very clearly. He remembered that he went to the local bar right before his last mission, which happened about a month ago, and he remembered seeing her sitting all alone on an old, worn-out bar stool.

"Sakura? Is anything wrong?" he had asked, as he lifted her chin up and gazed into her tear-streaked face. "What is the matter?"

She had looked at him and froze, probably from embarrassment. He could tell she had been drinking, from the smell of alchohol on her breath.

She tried suppressing her tears, but to no avail. She began to sob uncontrollably into his chest, enjoying the warmth and comfort of his arms. Letting her hug him, he pressed his arm on her back, as if to show her that he was there and always would be.

She drew back, and was about to explain why she was crying, when Kakashi drew her chin towards him and kissed her lightly on the lips. He could tell she enjoyed the kiss, but alarm bells went off in his head, so he pulled back, embarrassment and guilt covering his masked face.

Immeadiately after that, Sakura passed out, hopefully, from being drunk. He had paid the bill, taken her back to her house, and layed her on her bed, feeling guilty for kissing and taking advantage of a drunk woman, in public, at a bar, so he left her house and tried to forget that day.

But he couldn't.

*end flashback*

Kakashi was pulled back into reality as he heard her sob, much like the one from that day, turn into words, and he waited, watched, and this time, listened to what she had to say, rather than pulling her in for another much-wanted kiss.

Sakura looked up at him. He was like and angel to her.

He's just so perfect.

She felt silly for feeling this way but she couldn't help it. She loved how he seemed to be her guardian angel, always looking out for her. Through her tears, she smiled at him. She couldn't help it. Even though he was the reason she was crying, she couldn't help but smile when she looked at him.

Suddently she realized how stupid she must of looked.

Oh gosh, here I am, in front of the guy of my dream balling my eyes out while grinning like an idiot.

She rested the side of her head against his chest and decided is was probably time for her to answer his question.

" It's nothing Kakashi. Some kids just pulled a prank on me and it well, it just reminded me of how single and pathetic I am."

Part of her hated herself for making herself so vulnerable infront of him, but she knew he wouldn't judge her or make fun of her.

" How's about a drink Kakashi?" she quickly said without thinking much.
