ive been saying it for many years now, but its not getting any less true
we think too anthropomorphically, aliens arent gonna be like us, theyre gonna be alien...
but yeah, we totally need to look EVERYWHERE, even in the vicinities of hot jupiters, and deep frozen icewads thousands of AU away from any source of heat, maybe even in the photospheres of stars themselves...
we dont really know enough to rule anything out at this point...

I agree with you, we should be looking everywhere, since there is high chances that alien life (if it exists) won't need the same requirements as Earth-life.
